Well that’s because they need white people’s money due to poverty in general. If a South Korean, Japanese, South Vietnamese, Wanwanese, Thai, or Filipina women from the 80s and earlier could get a white U.S. soldier stationed on her land to marry her, that would literally means immediate social status uplifting. That was the overall social economic situation during the Cold War. So it is understandable why SE Asian women are so white worshipping. However, after Japan re-emerged as an economic powerhouse, white worshipping by Japanese girls became relatively less prominent.
Yet, my city Hong Kong is a weird case because whilst it is rich, ladies still behave like as if they live back in the Cold War under British Rule. Shanghai is even more weird. It was the heartland of the CPC’s revolution and is one of the industrial centres of China’s military industrial complex. At the same time, the Cultural Revolution devastated Shanghai’s remnants of the KMT, so there is a strong distaste toward anything leftwing among Shanghai’s middle class. However, what I do not understand is Shanghai middle class and elites’ nostalgia for the KMT-era semi-colonial rule. Shanghainese today love to brag about how they used to be the best when ruled by the Brits and French before 1937. What I am saying is whilst SE Asians have somewhat legitimate reasons to engage in white worshipping, HK and Shanghai looks a lot less reasonable since both a much more developed economically.
Yeah, for anyone outside the US (like myself), kind of scary to think how rapidly things can unwind.
If you look at America, which has many problems (some unique to it, and others it shares with many countries), the overall quality of life for Americans is much better than what you find in many other parts of the world. Yet many MAGA-ites act like America is a third world country, their enemies are numerous (both foreign and domestic), their rights are being stripped away and their society is on the verge of an apocalyptic collapse.
I think the reality is that many of these people have mentally locked themselves into this world view. One which doesn’t allow for reflection or acknowledging reality. That is very dangerous because the more their world view fails to meet reality the more violent they will become.
Accepting their value system is wrong is impossible because that is basically a social death for them. I don’t see how these people ever go back to normalcy without violence being forced upon them to bring them back to normal.
White supremacist racist ideology is the most irrational and the most dangerous ideology there is, it causes nothing but suffering. Every now and then it flairs up and folks get swept up in the madness. Germany went through it in the 1930s and they suffered for it with devastation on their soil and a divided country for over 4 decades, they said never again. The US is currently going through the madness, after the election of Barack Obama I suspect something snapped and they realized they were losing control so along came Trump, who wasn't scared to tell supremacists what they were scared to say out loud so they rallied behind him and rest is history.
I made a comment a few days ago about what a gentleman in a barbershop in Brooklyn said about these folks, they are hell bent on maintaining white supremacy in their country and in the world and it looks like they're going through every length to do it.
