US politicians are always calling for "friend-shoring". Don't expect help from a people they openly call an enemy. US politicians also wanted to stop China from buying precious US oil. Now it's all about forcing countries to buy US oil as a part of negotiating liberation day tariffs which was actually more important than stopping anyone from buying Russian oil out of any ethical concerns. It's like Nikki Haley who first campaigned on forcing China to be dependent on the US for food to then keeping from China getting precious American agricultural products. And now the US's precious agricultural gold is rotting in silos in America's heartland. That's why Republicans are horrible businessmen when they want to waste the money they could've made from a renewable resource such as agriculture over their geopolitics just because they wanted to exercise and abuse the power they thought they had. They thought they had the advantage in the game of chicken thinking they could outlast the Chinese because the Chinese needed their soy, something they didn't even grow before the Chinese wanted to buy it and wasn't their monopoly in the world. How stupid. All the accusation from the West that China would abuse any power they got from the people that thought they could starve Chinese over something as simple as soy.
