More than 400 consumer items are now covered by President Donald Trump's steel and aluminum tariffs. The extended inclusion list now covers goods such as motorcycles, baby gear, auto parts and chemicals. The changes went into effect Monday and did not exclude goods already in transit to the US.

It's win-win in the sense that China cut apart every American offense and the US got away alive portraying it to 50IQ MAGA supporters as a victory.

And this is truly what I call a nation of lawyers vs a nation of engineers. When choked by US tech bans, China immediately went to developing everything ourselves, in the process generating the momentum to break through the current leaders of the field. When Choked by Chinese magnet ban, the US went to negotiate getting the bans reduced to strict controls with quotas and sold that to their population as mission accomplished.
