AFAICT, these are the unequal treaties the ROK and the EU have tentatively agreed to:
  • ROK: For the privilege of getting "just" 15% tariffs, Seoul will invest $350 billion in the U.S. and buy $100 billion of energy from Washington
  • EU: For the privilege of getting "just" 15% tariffs, EU countries will invest $600 billion in the U.S. and buy $750 billion of energy from Washington
It will presumably stall South Korea's industrial expansion and accelerate Europe's industrial decline. A trade war assuredly would have done the same, but at least the U.S. would also have taken a hit, whereas under the current scheme it stands to benefit.

I am reminded of this scene from a great movie:

Why don’t he just ask them to cough up protection money? Easier and more straight to the point.

by Stephen Miran, the tactless Harvard educated fucktard Trump appointed to the position of Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers:
Fifth, they could simply write checks to Treasury that help us finance global public goods.

However, it's more politically palatable to the domestic constituents of vassal states American allies to pay protection money contribute to America's provisioning of global public goods by purchasing overpriced market priced American commodities than by cutting checks to the US government.

The funny thing is that there are still Hindu nationalists holding onto hope that Trump will do India good:
The conspiracy I have seen them spinning is that Trump is doing all of this intentionally because
a) india did 'something' on may10th that hurt american interests
b) All this pakistan favouring is to push india's button but they will come back to India because they need them for indo pacific,
c) India is the next rising super power and US is containing us, Indian navy can block america from going through the Malacca Strait (yes big indian RW journos are discussing this)
J-35 will maul SU-57. I doubt it wants that challange.
Well Russian will be happy with 7-8 $ bn regardless.
Pakistan's oil, if it truly exists in large quantities, could help china with their energy security.

I hope Pakistan's doesn't let US control all of it.
I hope so too, He did say 'pakistan can sell it to india' so presumably, Pakistan would be able to sell it to China too.
