Japan only need to win once, and they almost did. You never know what happens after 500 years. Never wise to leave a large independent entity protected by ocean near the heartland.
What makes you think Japan will last those 500 years given its current demographic and that near victory didn’t result in a victory despite Having having all the advantages in the world at the time and obvious step have been taken by China to ensure such an event will only remain just an important lesson to learn from and is at best a freak event that only worked once. China conversely only needs to win once in this situation and that victory will happen sooner or later.

They cannot even win once. They think they almost did but not really. When the mongols "won," China just absorbed them by numbers, and the mongols disappeared but China's still there. If you never know what happens in 500 years, then you never know how China will behave, whether it will continue to be merciful or if Japan can even sustain itself for that. The way things are going, when the US falls and Japan becomes more sterile in decline, China might reclaim them, giving a boost to both Chinese and Japanese populations (Japan province reinvigorated by Chinese vigor and the rest of China refreshed by embracing Japanese culture and dedication to craft). And remember, just as Japanese cruelty comes from innate frailty and insecurity, Chinese mercy comes from strength; it is not the Western sense of weakness-induced hesitation. If China's strength overmatch fades against Japan, so does our sense of mercy.

Lol, you obviously are not Canadian and don't understand Canadians.

Carney literally said that prior integrated relationship with the US is over.

We were already integrated pretty closely with the US. This is not gonna make it become closer. We are now actively trying to further diversify. We literally voted for Carney because he said that the old relationship of integration with the US is over.

Btw, Canada hit back against Trump's america. Sure we are smaller but no pushover. We retaliated.
I don't understand the Canadian mentality at all, outward Canada just appear as a large territory of the US and it hasn't acted to change that.

Since John F. Kennedy successfully threatened a war of aggression against the USSR for breaking the Monroe Doctrine in regards to Cuba - effectively reaffirming this Imperial policy - it seems clear that Canada can't be part of NATO without also acknowledging the Monroe Doctrine; that it's effectively a subject of the US.

Ending the Canadian subjugation without first ending the NATO membership would be impossible.

China is destined to eventually lose. When China gain advantage, they rarely press on. When Japan gain advantage, they go for the finishing blow. China can win 9/10 times and it never matters. Japan just need to win 1/10 times and win forever.
Every barbarian invader thought that, from Xiongnu 2000 years ago to the West today, yet China still exists, and through the trial it incorporated the best aspects of the invaders into itself.
