Build lots of nukes and relevant delivery systems. They are great powers' life insurance and social securities even during decline. :)
Yes,like the 900 ICBM silos/H20 bomber/SSBN's/world's largest/modern SRBM/IRBM force,5th/6th gen aircraft in China now but China unlike the SovietUnion/Russia is an all-around comprehensive power able to deal with any military/diplomatic/economic with a juggernaut's size/strength.Someone here mentioned the termalmost sudden "cambrian explosion" of very advanced weapon systems -a very apt term :) Also China can shield itself behind her own borders while innovating, expanding, strengthening her cities, countryside(yeah peasants!!),water projects, agriculture, science, technology etc -this is something the SU could not do and she paid the price in her collapse in 1991 despite her massive nuclear arsenal.

Soon (or did it already happen?!) portraits of the dear leader would be hung in every public (and not so public) institutions, pictures on the first page of schoolbooks, obligatory introductions praising the many, many wins and the 'uge brain of the respected dear leader adorning written and online american media etc. etc. Make personality cult great again!

On a more somber note, since day one MAGA 2.0 has been a continuous meme material and we could be having a real hearty laugh at their expense every day, if it wasn't for the dark war crimes and genocide MAGA and their zionist handlers perpetrate daily...

Carney at the White House meeting with Trump. Said "Canada is never for sale. But the opportunity is in the partnership (US and Canada) and what we can build together."

As I said, Canada and US will maintain their strategic partnership, and cooperate on defense, trade, Arctic, border, climate, environment, water, China, etc...

So basically, Trump pissed off all the Canadians for no reason. They started happily cooperating with the US on all those things. Now the president says the window is still open but the people are booing the US national anthem, boycotting American goods and cancelling tourism to the US. And I bet you the Canadian consumer is more uninhibited towards Chinese goods now, seeing as how that's an additional middle finger to the US on top of the fact that it was the best option for them anyway. And that's assuming that Trump doesn't F that up further by getting more aggressive on them, which is a very very poor assumption to make. You proud of this?

Trump slapped Canada. Canada still came back and wants to be friends. Thats another way to look at it.

All this talk about boycotting of American goods don't really mean much in the long term. How long do you think the boycotts will last? lol

Canada and US will be working in lockstep. In fact there will be even closer economic and security integration eventually.

That would be the wrong way to look at it cus Canada has slapped back many times already. America still holds a major power advantage over Canada so they are limited in their options but they are doing what they can against the US. Do not confuse traditional diplomacy with friendship. There is no doubt that both the relationship and the cooperation is much worse now than it was before.

It's not talk; they're currently doing it. There is no definition of something meaning much or little, but it's damage that didn't have to happen at all.

As long as the Angry Cheeto is in office LOL I really hope he gets extended in 2028 and if he doesn't, I hope his son takes his place, don't you?
Canada and US will be working in lockstep.
They were. Now they are divided. You call getting boycotted when Trump's main goal was to increase American exports "lockstep?" LOL
In fact there will be even closer economic and security integration eventually.
LOLOLOL That's not a fact; I knew Trumpers have no idea what a fact is. That's called wishful thinking for the future.

I just realized that you're talking about this meeting:

What kind of drugs are you on? That meeting was a disaster and the 2 couldn't agree on anything at all. They f-ing hated each other the whole time and Trump couldn't stop insulting the man who was elected for the sole purpose of fighting against Trump. That one sentence that Carney said and you quoted was just to sound like the only sane person in the room. This is a conversation you want to boast about as evidence that Canada is closing the rift with the US?????

I think you are counting your chickens too early. Economic ties are going to happen regardless of any face slapping. The issue is the mode of economic ties, and the potential concessions the US is going to get out of Canada. Anything major from Canada is political suicide at the moment

Boycotts may not work in the long run, but price does. The current issue is that production costs in the US will rise because of the tariff on parts around the world. The weakening of USD will help in term exports but it is also a double edged sword as parts imports will become even more expensive.

Parts factory will help but it would not help in a soon enough timeframe. So in the short and medium terms pure pricing will not help US products and in the long term, it will depend on whether the industry even survives in the US til then.

I doubt it will be in lockstep, but closer economic ties will happen regardless, as at the end of the day they share a long-long border. Security integration is also in doubt, there is no unified enemy to rally against, Russia cannot threaten Canada and all the propaganda against China is not working as intended therefore there is no external force to ensure this process. So unless something changes there is major doubt about this point.
