In many negotiations India wanted first world countries to accept more Indian immigrants because they earn a lot from remittances. Their services sector also benefit from having Indians abroad to enter new markets.

They tried to negotiate that with the same play for RCEP membership, and dealing with India negotiation that general point delayed the RCEP implementation for 2 years!

All Modi wanted was accreditation, which seems like some sort of backdoor trick to export people into other countries.

Two years they talked about that, before finally the Indians gave up, saying RCEP was not what they thought and was not for them, very negative on its way out of the door.

Then to make a long story short, after the agreement was ratified, trade between ASEAN and China shot up like nuts.

No India anywhere to be found.

This inability to carry out basic land reforms due to political constraints is the reason why the Indian economy will never develop. No nation in history has managed to successfully industrialize without first instituting large scale land reform.
Yeah, but the farmers and landlords who already own land/farms wont want their interests touched even if its for the long term greater good of the countrh as a whole . I dont blame them, i will do the same, im.sure you would as well.
Will you prioritse yourself and your family(wive, kids et ) first or will you prioritise the interest of your countrys people first over yourself and your family? Lol.
I guess the issue is that a vast proportion(almost half) of indias workforce is still employed in the agricultural industry and ita related fields, so that mass of population makes any reform.which touch on their benefits/interesta very complicated since they can basically bring down the government easily. So no leader has ever dared crossed that path. Modi tried a lottle bit and got humiliated and had to backtrack spectacularly. It wont happen again.

Anyway despite all this handicap, india is still developing though. Maybe not as fast as China during this same stage of her development but stil india is still developing quite fast(it looks slow only because China amd her east Asian peers rise was so fast and spectacular that it makes india's growth/development look very slow im comparison) and they still have alot of room for growth and a very young population.

Which is why land reform is tough in a democratic system. Land reform was possible in Soviet Russia, China, South Korea, and the province of Taiwan due to the existence of strong authoritarian governments that were able to prioritize the interests of the majority and the nation over those of the minority.

Accusation of him being a "traitor" because there was some sales of unauthorize equipment from candence to china while he was ceo and he holds some shares in some chinese companies.
So the racism against Chinese people went from students to regular employees all the way up to CEO's now,
and isnt that most ceos that hold some shares in lots of companies all over the world. I imagine thats normal shit

Oh yeah the trade deal they are talking with Uk rn also has provisions to allow certain % of indian workers, they do this with every deal.
India got $130 bn in remittance last year (from all countries) thats the highest of any country, huge chunk for the Foreign reserves.
golden greatness
From Golden showers to Golden whitehouse to Golden Dome defense system...gold gold gold...
Ahahaha....this Trump presidency has shown how powerful and influential the US is. We might not like it but it is what it is. Lol
Idk if its about power exactly, its just Europe is afraid/unused to this, If they had collectively stood their ground it would have been much bad for US, but old suits neocons/neoliberals of europe cant even dream of that scenario, its not like trump isnt easy to fool/fold.
Tim cook gave him 24 karat gold and walked away with billions of exemptions, He likes headlines than actual work.
Apple promised $350 bn in investment 1st term too and that never happened.

Which is why I give credit to Canada and Mexico.

The recent Trump Win™ in tastefully updating the interior designs of the White House in general and the Oval Office in particular has captured the public's attention and admiration:

Tough to pin down President Trump and First Lady Melania's impeccable style, except to say it radiates an uniquely Trumpian opulence: a generous spectacle of golden greatness that would inspire awe from the likes of Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi should they be so blessed to admire our great leader and his environs from Jannah.
How much of the naval budget did they skim to do this?

from a think tank known as the Third Way: the American public on average increasingly favors a "cooperative" rather than a "competitive" or "adversarial" relationship with China.

Some highlights from the Third Way report:
Today, the share of Americans who describe China as an enemy has declined by 7 points, from 36% in 2023 to 29% and the share seeing China as an ally or trade partner has increased by 8 points.
52% of respondents the 2025 survey chose cooperation over combat vs 32% in 2023—a 20-point swing.
At the same time, respondents clearly understood that China’s growing power means that Chinese
exports are part of their daily lives. The majority of Americans (62%) think that at least half of what
they own was made in China
.
Americans aren’t softening on China because they hold the country and its leaders in high regard. But
they have become more aware of the role China plays in their daily lives and, as a result, have become
more hesitant to use blunt force.

Thanks to the dramatic effects and market uncertainties created by President Trump's recent tariffs and threats of tariffs, more Americans — especially in their capacity as insatiable consumers — have found cause to (begrudgingly) "work with" rather than "work against" China.

The American public might still dislike, if not "hate the CCP," but the American consumer absolutely does not want to lose access to the affordable Chinese made creature comforts that they've grown accustomed, if not addicted to.
