The US's modus operandi:
1) Sanction another country. If that country does not retaliate or has no means of a retaliation, nothing further is needed.
2) If the other country retaliates, wait for sometime and arrange a meeting to negotiate.
3) Few days before going into negotiation, sanction something else.
4) Negotiate the other country to reverse their retaliation for 1 in exchange for US reversing 3.
5) US gets away with 1.
6) Sometime later reimplement 3, which now becomes the new 1 and continue the loop.

This time also looks like that's what US is trying to achieve. According to these statements what the US is willing to undo is bans on EDA, Jet Engines, Nuclear materials and chemicals. All of that were done in the last few days in preparation for a potential meeting to negotiate RE. Also all of these bans were done by sending letters to the individual companies rather than putting it into a published BIS rule.

Best thing to do for China is not even negotiate with the US. It’s a waste of time.

Deploying 4,700 soldiers apparently costs $134 million dollars.

Apparently, it's more than FAXX's entire 2026 budget.

On a program by program basis, the biggest standout is an estimated $75 million for the F/A-XX program. Compared to the $1 billion R&D funding the program once projected, the FY26 request is unlikely to be enough to meaningfully progress the sixth-generation strike fighter towards a contract as industry has hoped would soon come, and could functionally cancel the program.
