You need to talk to give instructions, but you're right, even being allowed to surrender and concede it already a huge American W.Im going to give you a preview with what's going to happen as part of these ongoing negations and trade deals.
There is going to be some relaxation of rare earth exports. In exchange Trump will relax some of the restrictions on china.
Tariffs will come down to a certain level that is livable for both countries. Chinese suppliers will eat some of it (some of them have already done so as part of their negotiations with their retailers). The remaining portions will be passed on to consumers and absorbed by the retailer themselves.
Everyone tells me China has the upper hand right; can destroy American industries. So why they even talking.
But when it come to RE you must have missed the part where restrictions are global and based on sanctions and compliance, American companies were never banned from buying them, they just have to comply with sanctions on US military, defence contractors and allow Chinese inspectors to verify compliance, something among the list of items Trump has been instructed to execute.
As for tariffs, you are correct that currently Americans are eating 100% of it, whether or not Chinese suppliers will eat some in the future, you might have to wait a long time to find out, but I'm sure there are room for 10% volume discounts if you commit to double your deficit.
