And he also thinks that slapping NATO allies as well as putting the US economy into contraction while increasing Trump's personal wealth represent American victories. This is Republican logic at work. The US doesn't need anyone but the world needs the US. That's why they think Chinese students aren't important for the US. Look at how many barriers the US puts up against China and China is moving along without them. I've mention how Huawei said publicly that US/Western sanctions are hurting his company and today Huawei today is making more money than ever without Western customers. Look at how China complained about not being included on the International Space Station. According to Republican logic that means China can't build a space station without the US... but they did.

Look at how Trump thinks China needs the US for food to the point Chinese people would be starving without the US. Plenty of other countries can provide China with the food they think China needs but Republicans stick to it because they want to believe they're that important to others and have that power and Americans want to hear it so they can feel good about themselves.
