Trump 2.0 official thread

You should snitch. Cause some of them dudes are clearly price negotiating again.
I did. Just got off the phone with 'em. CCP said they checked and everybody said Walmart's quiet as a mouse in China so they asked Walmart. Walmart told the CCP that Americans are stupid, so stupid that they voted for Trump so they'll just lie to them because they believe anything they want to hear. Don't mind the noise. So the CCP said ok and let me know. Thanks

I am not sure what you are trying to imply, no business will tell a big customer to just fuck off. Not even the mighty US businesses if they can help it.

Keeping the talks going would be normal business modus operandi but the issue is on the compromise. The US businesses are unlikely to get anything near what they think they can get.

Plus there were talks way back that some manufacturer were willing to compromise more due to overall increase in costs mainly due to transportation increases.
That makes sense. Thanks for the rational response.

Walmart and others are not going to get all they want. But they going to squeeze and get some.

That's what you were imagining before and today, you just posted an article about how Walmart literally ate every dollar of the tariffs, although you didn't want that part of the article to be the point.
That’s one component of the article. But that could be fake news like you said.

The other component is how retailers and suppliers are constantly talking, price negotiating. Some Chinese suppliers are at least considering the idea of eating a portion of the tariffs.

If true, you need to snitch some more. Keep that snitch line on hot dial.

Then don't post it if you think it's fake news.

That's actually corroborated by several other sources from both the US and China, which I previously posted. The part below is not.
The other component is how retailers and suppliers are constantly talking, price negotiating. Some Chinese suppliers are at least considering the idea of eating a portion of the tariffs.
You read an article, then imagine which parts you want to be fake and which parts you want to be real? LOLOL How incredibly desperate against evidence and the current truth.

Moving the goalpost again, from, "Chinese suppliers are paying for part of the tariffs," to "Some Chinese suppliers are at least considering the idea of eating a portion of the tariffs." "At least considering the idea," LOL Can you find any more useless weasel words to add in there?

Lol looks like US consumers are eating up the tariffs right now.

Sure suppliers will keep talking with buyers and maybe eventually come to an agreement. But prices are going up now for the US consumer. This is on the ground happening, not something that's still in the works, like china eating part of the tariffs

@Xinhua News Agency
[Foreign Ministry] #China Urges U.S. to Stop Spreading Disinformation and Correct Wrongdoing#

In response to recent U.S. accusations that China violated the consensus of the Geneva economic and trade talks, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian reiterated on the 3rd June that "pressure and coercion are not the right way to engage with China." He urged the U.S. to respect facts, cease spreading false narratives, rectify its erroneous actions, and uphold the consensus through concrete measures.
During the regular press conference, a reporter asked: "The U.S. has repeatedly claimed China breached the Geneva consensus and taken a series of negative steps. What is China’s response?"
Lin Jian noted that the Commerce Ministry had already stated China’s firm position. The Geneva consensus was reached based on principles of mutual respect and equal consultation, and China has implemented it responsibly. Without factual basis, the U.S. has smeared China, imposed export controls on chips, suspended sales of chip-design software, and revoked visas for Chinese students—extreme measures that severely undermine the consensus and China’s legitimate rights. China firmly opposes these actions and has lodged solemn representations.
"I stress again: Pressure and coercion are not the right approach. We urge the U.S. to face facts, stop peddling lies, correct its mistakes, and honor the consensus with real actions," he said. (Reporters: Yuan Rui, Xu Ke)

The problem with your presumption is that you think Walmart and the others have options. If they did, they wouldn’t be trying to squeeze in the first place.

They already lost Russian factories due to sanctions, that volume likely spread out to their other factories. If they lose the Chinese factories too it would be an existential crisis for the brands and companies.

For the moment their hands are tied, they will need to expand other existing factories if they are fully owned or get their vendors to expand which is easier said than done. Both options take time, time they don’t have.

I was being sarcastic since you think the part about suppliers/retailers price negotiating is fake.
