.....The blanket charge is Huawei is a national security threat... to the US. But of course that makes Americans think they can act beyond the confines of the US. Can China do that? No, which should tell everyone in the world Americans don't believe in equality under any law. Remember the gave a waiver to South Korea where they can sell their products to Iran to which the charges against Huawei are based. They charge that China is working to undermine the world order. Why not since the world order plays favorites and works to undermine countries that don't bend the knee to the US into what is essentially volunteer slavery.
....

The current world order made by the USA, and serving the interest of the USA.

As soon as China become stronger than the USA then the world order (including trade, military relations, surpluses /deficits) will change/disappear.

That will be a different world than the current that we know.

See what happens with Russia, that will be the future relations of USA with China as well.

Why Trump is losing the trade war

As reported by Bloomberg, US President Donald Trump's trade war with China comes along with its own self-inflicted injuries, including a steepening trade deficit with China, which is one of Trump's favourite yardsticks to measure who is 'winning' or 'losing' in global trade.
Key quotes
The U.S.’s monthly deficit in goods and services with the world reached its highest level in a decade in October while the deficit with China hit a record, according to data on Thursday. The new report showed the deficit grew more than 11 percent through October from the year before and thus pointed to an awkward emerging reality for Trump: If the pattern holds, by the end of this year the U.S. trade deficit will have reached $600 billion for the first time. It also will have grown by more than $100 billion, or a fifth, from when Trump took office in January 2017.
The problem for Trump is that the laws of economics are not bending to his plan. Much of the trade data remains messy. Trump’s tariffs, for example, caused a well-documented scramble earlier this year to import Chinese products ahead of the new import taxes taking effect. But the longer term data is starting to show some trends that could be interpreted as China winning by Trump’s own metrics.
One, by Tariffs Hurt the Heartland, a coalition of business and agricultural groups lobbying against Trump’s new duties, found that imports targeted by U.S. tariffs had continued to grow through September. At the same time U.S. exports of products targeted for retaliation by China, the EU and other American trading partners had been hit hard, with exports declining more than 26 percent through September.
The trade trends are corroborated in other data. The ISM services index, which surveys non-manufacturing companies monthly, showed that imports rose to the highest level since March while exports decelerated by the most since May. Likewise, ISM manufacturing data in recent months has shown a decline in export orders.

Canada's detention of Meng Wanzhou, chief financial officer (CFO) of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., earlier this month has sparked worldwide attention and drew strong criticism from China.

Without breaking any Canadian law, Meng was provisionally detained by the Canadian authorities at the behest of the United States, while she was in transit between flights in Canada, Huawei said in a statement Thursday.

Huawei has been provided very little information regarding the charges and is unaware of any wrongdoing committed by Meng.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said in a daily news briefing that China has lodged strong opposition with the Canadian and U.S. sides, urging the two countries to clarify the reason they detained Meng, to immediately release her and effectively protect her legitimate rights and interests.

According to Geng, both countries have not provided any evidence to China in regard to Meng's alledged violation of any Canadian or American laws.

Canada has no jurisdiction over Meng, be it based on the nationality principle or territorial principle.

As is known to all, the United States has always put its domestic law above the international one, and its "long-arm jurisdiction" has often drawn criticism from international community.

Yet in spite of all this, Canada still chose to ignore the international rules and obey the United States, paying the bill for America's bullying actions.

A notion Canada keeps boasting of is "human rights," but in this case, one can barely claim that Meng's right has been respected. Arresting a Chinese citizen during her change of flight without giving any concrete reason is severely violating her legitimate rights and interests.

Also in Meng's case, Canada has decided to treat her as a dangerous criminal prior to any trial or without any conviction. It is a huge humiliation and disrespect for Meng.

The Huawei CFO has health issues like high-blood pressure, sleeping disorders, and is still in recovery from a neck surgery in May. Yet she could not get the necessary humanitarian accommodation from Canada.

Canada has set a dangerous precedent by acting in this manner.

Canada's misdeeds, which are lawless, unreasonable and callous, have caused serious damage to its relations with China.

According to the Canadian leader himself, Ottawa had advance notice of the arrest. However, he chose not to keep the Chinese side informed but connived at the mean deeds, abbetted America's unilateral hegemonic move, and hurt the Chinese people's feelings.

We here give a piece of advice that Canada should not be wrong-headed any longer but immediately release the senior executive and effectively protect her legitimate rights and interests, otherwise there will be serious consequences and Canada is to take all responsibility.
