Total numbers of Chinese landing ship fleet?

Just by looking at the pictures of the craft (e.g. comparing it to nearvy objects and onboard humans), it looks for sure to be able to carry two light tanks, as long as the propulsion is good enough and there could be an impact on speed, which could be problematic because it is meant to be a high-speed vehicle. I would be curious to know what would be the disparity in firepower or capability between a light tank and a MBT?

First of all, you should be the one providing the numbers here because you are the one making the strange claim to believe that this new LCU can carry two 60t MBTs or 140t in payload.

But, for the sake of discussion, and to demonstrate a point, sure, I will provide the numbers.

The reason I doubted the inability to carry two mbt was that if the enemy could carry two at one go, China would be disadvantaged. So, I hope it will not prove to be a shorted-sightedness.

I do posting for fun and I hate people who nitpick every post. And they assume wrongly I mean type 99 They should know that Chinese marine use type 96 as their main battle tank! Forum is to learn and not to nitpick. If you think the post is not to your liking just ignore it. There are ton of outlandish post in this forum It is not my job or liking to correct every single one! I don't derive satisfaction doing it

What's your source for the claim that the Chinese Marines are equipped with Type-96?

SDF is not a fanboy forum. If you want to have fun making claims without sources, exaggerating, and being imprecise, try PDF or Reddit.

Other LCUs in the world of a similar size are only able to carry one 60t MBT at once, so it is not strange if this PLAN LCU "only" carries one 60t MBT as well.

At the end of the day, we can only make estimates based on what we can see and logically surmise -- and for a LCU of its size, they are not able to carry two 60t MBTs no matter how much one "hopes".

What one hopes for or desires, should not overrule common sense and evidence.

I'm not aware the Chinese Marines use Type-96 as their main battle tanks. Do you have a source for this claim?

LCU Class 1700 can carry two M1A1s.

I compared the various LCUs in the world in this post last page.

The equivalent of the new PLAN LCU is not LCU 1700.

The equivalent to the new PLAN LCU is MSV-L or EDA-S, both of which have a maximum payload of just over 80t, and is only enough to carry one proper full sized 60t MBT.

Would the enemy care about China's equivalent? Why would the PLAN not build something equivalent to the LCU 1700 especially when it has the means? It's not a DDG costing hundreds of millions.
