Agreed! The UK has made good stuff in the past, now taken over & further developed by others - Not only for the Armed Forces, but also in Commerce e.g. Mini Cars, Land Rover, Jaguar etc. Sad! Time for UK Defence & Commercial Industries to revamp & start thinking again. That goes for other countries too. However must always beware of "rouge" countries waiting to steal secrets.

It's always so beautiful watching a Harrier taking off, too bad the UK is not making anymore of these puppies.

I always love these pics. There are some real jewels (IMHO) on this entire page. Some of which show huge things happening with US Naval technology and new equipment progress:

Bewlo pic: Now THAT, is a HOT VLS launch form the most capable VLS System on planet earth!

S04BBkN.jpg

The Island added to the USS Gerald R. Ford. Huge milestone! and launch will be just around the corner.

I count four P-8A Poseidons here...operational in-service aircraft. Glad to see these numbers growing

P-8A Poseidon in flight, a great addition and long awaited replacement for the venerable P-3Cs

GNF7yNA.jpg

Great to see the Independence Class LCS doing this type of testing and qualification for the advanced mine hunting vehicle that will be a big part of the counter mine module.

USS Michael Murphey, DDG-112, the 62nd Arleigh Burk class DDG! Four more Flight IIAs are planned before they start in on the Flight III vessels (currently under design) and they will build between 24 and 42 of those. Which will make a total of between 90 and 108 Arleigh Burk DDGs altogether before it is over. WOW!.

You've already did more than your fair share of service to the country Popeye and we can't thank you enough.;)

I have a question when the fire crew don on their equipment is there a radio and receiver inside that head gear? I can imagine the difficulty hearing the orders and communicating with fellow crew mates.

VMT Jeff. I really like the motto below the ship's bell of USS Gerald Ford: "Don't Give Up The Ship" - a true blue Navy Order.

Thank you Equation! And thank you for your service to our nation.

Not sure about the new gear.. but I do know they still use hand signals when possible.
