GULFPORT, Miss. (Jan 9, 2013) Seabees assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 15 form a protective circle to practice teamwork and movement during crowd control training. NMCB-15 is mobilized in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and is an expeditionary element of U.S. Naval Forces that support various units worldwide through national force readiness, humanitarian assistance, and building and maintaining infrastructure. GULF OF MEXICO (April 19, 2012) The Military Sealift Command joint high-speed vessel USNS Spearhead (JHSV 1), the first of 10 Navy joint high-speed vessels designed for rapid intra-theater transport of troops and military equipment, conducts builder's trials. The 338-foot-long aluminum catamarans are designed to be fast, flexible and maneuverable even in austere ports, making them ideal for transporting troops and equipment quickly within a theater of operations. GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba (Jan. 11, 2013) Builder 1st Class Daniel Gunsallus, deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 27, performs finish work on a newly poured section of concrete at Cable Beach on Naval Station Guantanamo Bay (NAVSTA GTMO), Cuba. Gunsallus and his team are constructing a parking lot at the beach as part of a series of ongoing renovations and improvements on NAVSTA GTMO.
