ATLANTIC OCEAN (Dec. 12, 2012) The multipurpose amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), the amphibious transport dock ship USS New York (LPD 21), and the amphibious dock landing ship ship USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44) offload ammunition to the Military Sealift Command dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Matthew Perry (T-AKE 9) while underway in the Atlantic Ocean. Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group and embarked 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (24th MEU) are returning after supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility.
