Re: Today's US Navy Hi-res Photos!

first pic for those not in the know The CATM 84H is a Training variant of the AGM-84H SLAM-ER missile.
picture four: Those blue guns are training weapons used too simulate the handling and weight of a real weapon. In this case the real weapon is a odd ball in that offically the US never adopted it but it's shown up in the hands of Marines and now sailors conducting ship boarding the weapon started it's life as the Steyr TMP but is now the Brügger & Thomet MP9
pic six: over 80 years of Big bad Browning and still Rocking. On Every battle Field of the post 20th century and beyond one will find two Brownings and a Kalashikov.

Re: Today's US Navy Hi-res Photos!

A good woodland pattern too be sure, And A sign the Navy is at least starting too try and get there act together... What gets me about the NWU type 2 and 3 is the stupidity of the wear reg on the type 2.
THE NWU TYPE II WILL BE WORN ONLY BY NAVY SPECIAL WARFARE (NSW) PERSONNEL, SAILORS ASSIGNED TO NSW UNITS, OR SAILORS ASSIGNED TO UNITS DIRECTLY SUPPORTING NSW MISSIONS WITHIN THE THEATER OF OPERATIONS. IN THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES, THE NWU TYPE II WILL ONLY BE WORN BY THE AFOREMENTIONED AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ON TRAINING RANGES OR DURING ACTUAL OPERATIONS REQUIRING A DESERT CAMOUFLAGE UNIFORM. ALL OTHER COMMANDS AND INDIVIDUALS REQUIRING THE WEAR OF DESERT CAMOUFLAGE UNIFORMS WILL CONTINUE TO WEAR THE CURRENT TRI-COLOR DESERT CAMOUFLAGE UTILITY UNIFORM.
In other Words Seals Who Already wear pretty much what they like are the only ones who get type 2 well the rest of the land sailors who might be working in the sand are stuck wearing out the leftover coffee stains The AOR patterns was designed with the Eagle Constitution in the pattern as a recruiting ad, yet instead they are giving it only too the guys who don't really want too advertise.

BATH, Maine (March 9, 2012) The future USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112), and the final ship of the original 62-ship procurement of the DDG 51 class shipbuilding program, successfully completed a combined builder's and acceptance super trial after spending four days underway in the Atlantic Ocean. Because of the maturity of the class, the Navy holds only one round of trials on each ship prior to delivery, instead of separate builder's and acceptance trials. This super trial requires less time, fuel and manpower than the typical method. During the trial, Bath Iron Works and the U.S. Navy's Board of Inspection and Survey tested the ship's weapons, communications, and propulsion systems as well as conducting several other inspections including habitability, water purification and food preparation. The new destroyer honors the late Lt. Michael P. Murphy, who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions as leader of a Navy SEAL team in Afghanistan. A commissioning ceremony will be held for the ship in New York City in October. (U.S. Navy photo courtesy of General Dynamics Bath Iron Works/Released)
