Captain
@ Popeye,I was intending to ask you this question through personal messaging which does not seem to be working for me.

Has there ever been a public release of the full reason for why the fire on the "George Washington" ever been released?I have read newspaper updates after it happened, but surely there must be more to than personel having a sneaky smoke in the vincinity of improperly stowed inflammable substances. The US navy make no secret as to how well fire and damage control is second to none onboard their ships and yet the fire spread to multiple decks and hours to bring under control.

Presently USS George Washington (CVN 73) is undergoing a Refueling and Complex Overhaul at Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News VA. The overhaul will take about four years.

That took awhile to read, but not nearly as long as it took them to isolate and fight that fire?? WOW!

so BD, the CapN and the XO were booted out??
