Theoretical Sino-American joint operation

When the greatest civilization ever in the history of man joins forces with the greatest military and superpower of the most advanced era of men, they are truly one unstoppable force..

Woh, besides the obvious wooing part (of which I presume you are refering China as one of the superpower?)... a couple of pictures don't really necessarilly means China and America are good buddy enough to "patrol the world".

This thread has inert for a while now, guess that shows the "possibility" of such a topic to took place in recent days. (Not much happening, not much discussion)

Take the "newly" development since the last time's update: Japan's earthquake, did Sino-American joint operation comes to rescue? I think such joint efforts took a lot of political BS to be removed at first place. (China offered help, Japan turn (most of) it down; it nearly turn down USA's help as well - not am I saying USA is "helping a lot" this time, either)

PS. I guess Japan earthquake is too political BS (and undertable exchanges) to talk about, so I just stop here.

I was under the impression that the US helped a lot, e.i Operation トモダチ. I mean, lots of deployed ships used as logistics and supply depots.

Wasn't the problem with the Chinese aid was something about delivery/logistics, as in China could not deliver it themselves while the US (for obvious reasons) could?

In term of operations A joint Sino-American would be More slogged down on the political front then the Operational component. Combined Peacekeeping operations in Haiti, Anti Piracy operations indicate some degree of mutual interests Operationally too some degree there have been some joint training going on The USMC has trained with PLAMC on occasion it all depends on the political issues of the day and if the Threat demands such operations.

You can expect some of the same issues too pop up when joint operating with any other nation. Communications, Friendly fire worry's , differing Rules of engagement, Differing political aims Command chains... Ect... Ect
The Us has the logistics line the Chinese have the numbers ( sorry still true The PLA is one of the Largest land army's in-existence.) where the USAF has some of the largest fleets of movers on the planet. a mission demanding them both in for active combat?
I don't know the Russian federation Turning very very hardline over night?

Just a footnote in case no one awares:

China conducted several joint excercise with Shanghai Corporation Organization members;

BP and other American natives are in a good position to dig some info and photos regarding a joint Marine training, between PLA and USMC, some where near 2005, at Guang dong; (cause I can't find the news and photos within my circle)
- point of interest: in a try-out-and-contest of Chinese Type 95 assault rifles, Chinese Marine get Number one, and an USMC soldier get Number two, that's the (officially) US soldiers using Type 95 for some shooting contest for the first time. It's either Type 95 is very user-friendly, or USMC very good at adapting alien weapons.

China recently conducted some joint training with Indonesian, not long ago, with Thais...

So yes, the "Theoretical Sino-American joint operation" did not taking place, is a more "political", than "operational" problem.

A number of us ground forces receive or on occation contract for training on non american arms. this training comes from any number of private training schools some times using former non american "special forces operators" One of the advantages of the right too bare arms.
The usmc inparticular encurages this through a "warrior" metality. they are also the only us service too qualify all there personel out too 1000 yarms on the service rifle, and please never call a Marine a soldier it's improper.

Correct..I once saw a short brawl between Marines and Soldiers at the air terminal in Hickam because some Top Sargent kept calling the Marines Soldiers. Final score.. Marines 1 Soldiers 0.

Thanks, I got the point, but didn't got the idea.

I mean, is there a "universal" form of address, to those who is / was serving / served at armed forces, especially American?

I take it is some kind of insult to call a US marine a soldier, but WHAT EXACTLY IS WRONG?

Soldier for army; airman / airwoman for air force; sailor for navy; marine for marine...???

Since there is formal news that US has built cyber-warfare troops, they shall have ANOTHER formal name like "cybertron" or "comp-tants" or something?

Edit:

Oh BP, to the topic, you can find those news and photos regarding the Sino-American Marine joint excercise? somewhere at 2005

Correct. There's a tremendous rivalry between the USMC and US Army.

I remember that. I'll see what I can find!
