Question is will Ukraine let them escape or wait for them to bunch up and rain arty and GMLRS.... I say let them escape. It's all about optics and how the west perceives Ukraine in this war. Then again I could be waaay wrong and Ukraine is out for blood and totally annihilates them. Either way we're gonna find out soon.

These are fake Russian Telegram channels run by Ukrainian propaganda.

Wagner recently warned that there are many fake Telegram channels writing on their behalf.

These video ain't target toward us, but toward the Russian grunts and they families.

In the past few days I saw videos where the Wagner shown the indestructible body aromor of Ukrainan soldiers, claimed that the Russians has cardboard as body armor, the helmets can be crushed by hands and so on.

If they can generate few thousand phone call to the son/husband like" Are you all right ? I heard that you received cardboard as armor " then it is successfull, because the target is the demoralisation of the civilians and the soldiers on frontline.

He specifically meant T-62M variant which has more advance optics and ATGM capability contrary to T-72M
Russian Armed Forces want to modernise old T62s and turn them into 800(!)
T-62M. How realistic is this?
The T62 entered service in 1983(!!!).
That is, almost 40 years ago.
I.e. all suo and missiles are made according to the technology of that time.
And I am sure that there are no production lines left in Russia to make both.
One retired Russian military officer told me that during his service (late 80s in the training unit, tanks of the TOF coastal forces) there wasn't a single tank in his unit equipped for t62m, and there were not even instructors for training.
No, of course, I'm sure there were instructors for t62m somewhere, but their number is vanishingly small.
At the time they believed T62 was already a history, and the future was T-80, T-90 and upgrades of T-72.
Bottom line: no instructors.
Sheksna outdated and do not know how to use them.
The number of produced Sheksnas is unknown, it is impossible to revive the production process in a short time.

Doesn't seem too difficult to me. Tanks aren't that complex, Soviet era ones much less so. The one they showed in August was upgraded with mostly off-the-shelf parts. Won't be a world-beater of course.

T-62s are still in service all over the world. There will likely still be some sort of production going for the T-62s 115 mm gun. Keep in mind, lightly upgraded T-62s were delivered to Syria a few years ago, and they somehow managed to scrounge up some ammunition for those. The T-62 upgrade they showed in August featured a number of T-72 parts, including the engine, so that would alleviate a spares shortage a bit.

Not sure how much that really means to these Soviet tanks. We have already seen Russians and Ukrainians hopping from one type to another captured one during this conflict without training. Clearly they are similar enough for rudimentary use. I don't think the T-62 is too different in that regard.

That might actually be a problem, but you still have the normal gun rounds. Doesn't the BMP-3 use a variant of the Sheksna BTW?

A new modernization of the T-62 spotted on the training grounds in Karsny Yar, Transbaikalia. Thermal imaging sights provided. The T-62's are used as assault guns mainly, i.e. infantry support vehicles and not for tank on tank engagements. It was thought prior to Ukraine that assault guns were obsolete, it's role replaced by IFV/APC's, but as it turns out, you still need them against entrenched enemies.
