The War in the Ukraine

Were there losses? Of course, but the scale of the losses seems clearly exaggerated, as is all too often the case with Ukrainian claims throughout this war. But let’s ignore that consistently track record of blatant exaggeration and take their claims at face value for the Nth time and crucify anyone who dares to question them!
I think that what you're trying to do here (downplay what had happened there) and pretend that it's not as heavy loss as it seems is plainly stupid attempt. When Strelkov admits today that the losses are up to three times heavier than what he could even predict from initial reports and that many men died there. Even when mercenaries from the Wagner Group admit that Ukrainian mass artillery fire is often much better than Russian thanks to how advanced they are because they're learning from NATO and utilizing it on the battlefields we've got someone who knows better and writes - 'I can see 2 people there! So it's nothing serious!'.

I can assure you that almost all of Russian soldiers had seen those pictures already. Yet I'm sure that if you had been there that would be a great morale buster for you seeing those pictures.

Maybe let's not discuss this anymore - it happened a few days ago and today is today. If pictures aren't enough then only classified written Russian reports can help here. Until they're public let's not discuss it here because there always will be that 'it ain't that bad' guy.

So that's where I'm having trouble with this. Russian losses are supposedly staggering, and Ukrainian artillery is often better, and Russian did not do mass mobilization, and are still taking heavy losses ongoing. They only committed 250k troops even if at that. Ukraine has mass mobilization and NATO weapons which has reached the front lines. Ukraine still has planes flying sorties.

So other than the northern Kharkov region, why isn't Ukraine pushing the Russians back in donbass and in the Kherson region. They should be pushing back steadily every day. Am I missing something ?

It's a war of attrition more or less... Russia didn't bring heavy reinforcements so if they cannot afford to lose, and don't need it, probably mean that they are steadily grinding more meat than the Ukraine side. Lots of scrap everywhere from both side and probably mixed up together where heavy battle occur.

It's clear that Russia hit a fierce foe armed to the teeth and having awac and electronic warfare helping him gaining data.

It's also clear that Ukraine is mainly destroyed and if Russia decide to stop after taking the south, they will destroy anything that can help Ukraine rebuild itself.

How are the Nazis in Mariupol still posting on twitter? They should have had everything cut off, yet they are still on twitter begging for help every day?

We should never hear from them again. Is Putin waiting for all their batteries to run out?

Well electricity is something which they seem not in short of. Given complexity of Azovstal, one can perhaps put solar cells in place others may not looking at. That's how they charge their phone.

Russians seems have not able to close all the exits yet.

---
Other possibility is of course those are not real Azov personnel in Mariupol.

I assume they have generators down there. I doubt they are using solar panels. Any big enough to provide enough energy is going to be visible by drone.

Not real Azov personnel? They seem pretty real to me when they are begging Erdogan/the Pope/tupac to save them.
