War is not a romance novel. You couldn't last a day without water. You couldn't walk around 2 hours even without carrying anything. Targeting key infrastructure is key to winning the war.

With the robust nature of Ukraine people, support from Western super powers and evidence of their will to fight, I think they could endure these hardships. There has also been plenty of examples of human resilience in the face of impending difficulties, all over the arab world, middle east, northern africa etc they struggle and fight tooth and nail. A lot of these places have no infrastructure, it's chaos, they find a way to make it work.

Notice how these are all tropical regions where humanity existed without the need for fire for millions of years?

Willpower can produce a little heat. But only a little. For the rest, you need fuel.

That and there's also the obvious selection bias. We remember the stories of successful heroic struggles and lionize their protagonists. We don't remember the people who defied and got crushed anyway.

I was reading some hype on Twitter about Biden promising more air defenses to Ukraine after the attack but this article only mentions the already promised two NASAMS with another 4 to be delivered sometimes after 2024. It does talk about the US trying to dig up more old S300 and other older soviet systems to try to prop up Ukraine's AD.

That said, Russia should keep up the barrages because it's just a matter of time before Ukraine's air defenses are strengthened which will diminish the impact of such attacks as long as they insist in not carrying out proper SEAD missions

Strengthened with what? NATO does not have proper ground based air defenses. The only country with advanced ground defenses in the West is Israel and they are staying out of this conflict and refuse to allow even ATGMs to be provided to Ukraine. That is why the Baltics could not forward their Spike ATGMs to Ukraine.

The whole point of US doctrine is to rely on the air force for everything from air defense to delivering munitions on targets.

Russian accumulation visible in Luninets Airbase in Belarus, it is worth remembering that days ago it was mentioned that Shahed-136s were already available at that same base, which proved true with the recent attacks today.

It is worth remembering that this commander is known for being a hardliner, this news of giving this freedom of action (excluding nuclear weapons) to this commander if it proves to be true, clearly demonstrates the reason we are seeing massive attacks on targets that were not previously known for the first time, they had been attacked and that after 7 months of war, in addition to making clear a hierarchical structure of the Russian command in confusion with the Shoigu and Gerasimov without being able to intervene in the actions of the new commander in Ukraine.

In total, according to Russian media, 191 missiles were launched. As Zaluzhnyi's statement makes clear, the air defense was overstretched.

Apparently and without confirmation, the Russians have reconquered Terny, but some sources claim that it is not effectively a counterattack, but prioritizing an active defense.
