A reminder on the Super Moderator's instructions for cultivating civilized discussion and reducing spam in this thread.

This spamming of individual Twitter posts in the Ukraine Conflict thread need to stop! Once upon a time this forum had a rule that bans one-liners posts and picture-only posts to cultivate civilized discussions. We are implementing these rules once again to reduce spam in this thread.

The following types of posts will be deleted and the member will be warned/banned:
1. one-liner posts that provides no value to the discussion
2. picture-only (or Twitter-only) posts
3. comments targeting another member

If you are not prepared to bring some thoughtful analysis related to the topic of Ukraine Conflict in that specific thread, then feel free to not post anything.

After much discussion, we are re-opening the Ukraine Conflict thread. All previous rules are still in place, that means:

1. absolutely no discussion of potential China/Taiwan conflict (militarily, politically, anything!)
2. no attacking other members, no matter how their opinions may differ from you (no slurs, name calling, etc.)
3. no one-liner posts
4. no single Twitter/Reddit posts, in fact we highly recommend not to use Twitter/Reddit as your source of information
*The above are immediately ban-able offenses!

5. keep the Ukraine conflict discussion to that thread - that means don't flood the World News thread!
6. posting a link to anything (news sites, official announcements, etc.) must be accompanied by some sort of analysis allowing for further discussion
7. if you all you want is to call out another member, but have nothing useful to bring forward to continue the discussion, then don't do it
8. call out inappropriate behaviour, not difference in opinion
9. if you see a troll post, the right thing to do is to IGNORE it!

We hope this thread will be used to provide useful updates on what is happening, staying away from obvious propaganda and mis-information.

@Yommie, reduce your Twitter sharing volume per hour (i.e. Spamming) or we will get T-U-P on you for a longer vacation. Any further discussion on Yommie will be deleted, thank you.

Both sides using badly shot videos or pixelated images to craft whatever story they want for the "we're winning the war" narrative

Blurry shots taken from the Russian side? Same with that other phase array. Are you familiar that fake radar installations are a real thing and deployed as decoys? Sharp enough to assume it's an S-300 but too blurry to prevent you from telling apart the real thing from a fake. Too convenient. It seems they the Russians want you to believe an S-300 is destroyed for their own sneaky tactical reasons.

From what I've been reading, Russians are re-organising their forces and calling up new reserves/volunteers for a bigger Donbass offensive ("the final push". Exactly when it will start is impossible to tell but probably September at the latest. Possibly in August.

Russia has not conquered as much territory as some thought it would but that is mostly because Ukraine has traded blood for land. Their losses are very high (most realistic estimates put total KIA+MIA at well above 70K). The donbass is also very industrialised and has lots of urban centers, which makes it easier to defend than to attack.

Once it falls, further progress should be easier.

(I don't know if this against the rules and please warn me if it is but i think this is quite a big of a deal and possibly a huge blow to Russian side)

It seems Russian S-300 missile system has been destroyed by HIMARS in Kherson area, though the Russian claimed it was only a dummy model of
S-300 to bait HIMARS out to reveal its location

Oh so this is what you meant some days ago.

One thing to note is that the engagement radar 30N6 or 92N6 seems to be missing and there appears to only 2 launchers destroyed. The question is "where were the others ?"

The Russian deployment of S-300/400 batteries so far or as far as their MoD shows always have the engagement radar and multiple launchers about 6-8 of them. I would expect more vehicles to be hit tho given that the Russians doesnt really seems to deploy them far apart.

Here is an example in Belgorod.

Notice the tight spacing of launchers and 1 engagement radar ahead of it. The engagement radar is important as it's the one launching the missile. But in the video only launchers and a command/signal vehicle are present.

I don't get it? Did you think an M777 was some sort of invincible super weapon? They will inevitably be destroyed or damaged just like any other Western piece of equipment donated to the Ukrainian war effort. It doesn't matter if it was donated by the US or any other nations equipment. The question is did it provide or prove to be an effective platform before it met its end.

Friend, when he shows a pile of wreckage, you should understand that this is an ironic tone.
