The War in the Ukraine

Poland is planning again sending their tank fleets to Ukraine
This time is quite modern, PT-91 Twardy, i've already talked regarding this specific tank of how it would be a nice addition to Ukrainian tank fleet with its being better to most of Ukrainian T-64s.
From the looks of it, Poland will send the entirety of its PT-91 tabk fleet to Ukraine, probably because of recent talks of acquiring more advance tanks from the west and Korea

I'm sincerely curious what all the hype about HIMARS is? The system (the truck mounted one especially) is extremely unimpressive to me

Ukraine had thousands of more capable Soviet era launchers BM-27, BM-29, BM-30, and lost the vast majority of them already. There is nothing special about the US version the Ukrainians have. They didn't win the war with those launchers they have been using prior

There is nothing about it that is going to change any game. Why do they always have to resort to these silly statements in the media? Just doesnt make much sense to me, beyond some really dark marketing campaign using Ukrainian lives as cannon fodders to sell US weapons abroad.
One user pointed this out:

The HIMARS has a NATO datalink so they can get coordinates straight from the US. All the Ukrainians have to do is drive the truck and press the fire button.

Easy prey for Mi-28 NM and Ka-52 M attack choppers which have very capable radars and NLOS missiles. It sucks to be Kiev regime tank crews who are been sent to die without accomplishing anything.

All the new artillery like Msta-S M2 have this capability. Once they receive target location from a drone, the gunner presses the fire button, the fire solution is calculated automatically based on the coordinates of the target, the coordinates of the artillery, the elevation of the target, the elevation of the artillery, the bearing and elevation of the gun is calculated by a digital computer, the barrel is moved into place by an actuator, the shell is sent on its way, all within a couple of seconds. We truly live in the era of terminators. Pretty scary when you think about it. Theses days our lives would be not living without fidgeting with a digital computer all day long.

Having to use Tochkas is a mixed message. On one hand it means they're getting serious about winning, and all the Tochkas have both been paid for long ago and are too old to see use in another war so might as well use them now. On the other hand it means they're not producing enough Iskanders and Kalibrs and need Tochkas to fill the volume.

The difference is that Russians don't have real time recon capabilities as strong as US, so the US feeding data to Ukrainian troops is more impactful.

Real time intel is best coming from drones. Satellites don't work well in winter when the sky is mostly cloudy. All the new Russian artillery are fully automated just like all the new Chinese and American artillery are fully automated.

Speaking of clouds, there is a way to generate smoke screen to block satellite recon. Especially with ground based particle generators which float high up to generate clouds.
