Trouble is, Putin has nothing more to escalate except for nuclear weapons. General mobilisation is politically unacceptable because of nature of war (Russia itself isn't invaded first) and anyway, I doubt they have enough equipment to equip any sizable number of reservists with anything remotely modern and functional.
In fact full blown mobilization and nukes, that vast majority of Russians are ok with that if that means the destruction of all of Ukraine.
Putin has his own plans of bleeding the Ukrainians to death and also the West.

Russian drones go after Ukrainian trucks, tractors and trains.

Gerberas are mainly used as decoy drones, meant to soak up air defenses while providing reconnaissance and target spotting for incoming waves of Gerans, Iskanders and cruise missiles. Lately, Gerberas are also sporting 5kg warheads, which is as good as a 120/122/125mm HE shell, turning them into loitering munitions. Gerberas hit a UAV control site and launcher in Dobropillia.

I understand the emotions. Putin-Russia bad and is understandable, thought IMO the Ukrainians should be blaming the Europeans elites and the Obama-Biden administration probably as much they blame the Russians, either way, yes the Ukrainians hit Russian here and there but is not doing the damage that people think, Russia is a massive country. Yes it may be a good cover image in Western news and maybe may some Russians annoy, but it doesn´t seem to be a gamer changer. Meanwhile Russians missiles are literally dismantling Ukraine, they hitting warehouses were Ukraine make and store weapons, fuel depots, tankers and intelligence centers, looks like Russians have spies all over Ukraine. ZELENSKY IS BEGGING FOR AIR DEFENSES for god sake because he knows he will have to dig tunnels in a flat country under fire. And that is not even counting that Ukrainian attacks has zero effect in the front. Russians are taking more and more towns and consolidating even more. Like I said, I understand the emotions, but I don´t Russians retreating or running out of weapons like the EU stooges said in 2022. That is it seems to be the reality. Is a grinding war. At the end of the day is either an Agreement or NATO enter the war or Ukraine will collapse.

From my arbitrary selected timeframe, this war in its current state doesn't have have much going on most of the time. Its a really slow grind. Then every news cycle we have some huge development by Ukraine usually with Zelensky often stating it first coincidently with all the media (since most people aren't going to see the Russian stuff) amplifying it. The hysteria during this period jumps up and suddenly there's load of discussion. See stuff like that Airbase in Russia being blown up or the Kursk invasion. Then after a few weeks it becomes old news, people stop caring and eventually it turns out the thing wasn't as big as initially portrayed and life goes on. So probably the worst times to make proper assessments is during these peak moments even though thats when people's are actually on the war instead of focusing on something else.

I think the problem is that everyone knows Russia isn't "holding back" anymore, they simply lack capability to do anything more substantial. They are a shell of their former selves. Even their engineering has degraded, when China recieved russian jet engines they realised the quality had gotten worse.

Russia needs to be able to show that they can retaliate and create undeniable lasting damage to Ukraine, because Ukraine has become used to getting bombed, like London in the Blitz. For example, every time Moscow gets bombed they should destroy a bridge across the Dneiper.

Nah, even if you hate this post, it's still gonna be here cus you can't rebut it:

No, it's that Chinese engineering has vastly improved. Russian engines have definitely not gotten worse; doesn't even pass the common sense test.
Russia needs to be able to show that they can retaliate and create undeniable lasting damage to Ukraine, because Ukraine has become used to getting bombed, like London in the Blitz.
Ukraine getting used to being bombed by Russia whenever wherever Russia chooses is the opposite of Russia lacking capability. This comes to mind:

Doesn't mean the fire's "a shell of its former self."
For example, every time Moscow gets bombed they should destroy a bridge across the Dneiper.
I would support Moscow being more heavy-handed but that's up to them cus they're still meat-grinding Ukraine and gaining territory. Maybe they have plans for those bridges.
