  • To clarify, Ukraine’s drone operations do not rely on AI or Starlink.
  • They use open-source software:
    • Flight control firmware: Ardupilot
    • Ground control station: Mission Planner
    • Digital video transmission + LTE via local Russian cellular networks (possible relays within Russia)
    • Drones follow pre-set GPS waypoints, with Ukrainian operators making manual terminal adjustments (human-in-the-loop).
  • This is unequivocally demonstrated in SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) footage.

Russians getting the hang out of using Forpost and Orion UAVs. Three howitzers gets hit in the Sumy region. There's a report that an Orion took out a pickup with some GUR officials on it but I have not seen another resource to back it up. Pickups are frequently used by the AFU and hit constantly given that the Russians focus on choking logistics using drones, a big factor of Ukraine's Kursk loss and others elsewhere.

Ukrainians continue to use and by admission, Soviets era equipment, which isn't just coming from Eastern Europe but from what's left of Saddam's arsenal in Iraq.

Russians raise flag over Redkodub in the Group West sector, Zoria in the Lyman sector, and Kondrativka in Sumy region.

155mm Pzh2000 SPG gets hit and destroyed by Russian fiberoptic drones. It appears either the fiberoptic drones have increased their range or SPGs are being forced to fight closer to the front.

FPV drone piggybacking a Molniya FPV drone. The Molniya can fly up to 30km, and the piggyback can extend range an additional 10 to 20km. This can explain FPV drone attacks on Ukrainian logistics trucks as far out as 40km behind the front.
