The War in the Ukraine

The first case of the destruction of the Ukrainian MLRS M142 HIMARS by the Russian FPV drone "VT-40" has been recorded. The video was filmed near the village of Rusin Yar in the Donetsk direction. For an unknown reason, the Ukrainian MLRS M142 HIMARS came close to the front line, according to some sources at a distance of 10 to 30 km. Naturally, the HIMARS MLRS firing was immediately noticed. The Ukrainian MLRS HIMARS launcher was tracked on the march and hit by a drone. The M142 HIMARS MLRS was developed in 1996 by the American company Lockheed Martin, the cost of one installation is about 5 million dollars.

Discovered another detail. Not only was the HIMARS taken out by a VT-40 of the experimental Rubicon unit, but it took place around 30km from the front, assuming if this number is correct. The VT-40 is your typical quadcopter type drone originally introduced by the Sudoplatov unit and as a crowd funded project, and it's not a winged drone which is the type that would get better range. This is going to up things a bit if cheap quadcopter FPV drones would now reach 30km from the launch point. Typically such drones have a range of about 10km.

Also interesting that the Rubicon unit, which used to operate on the Kursk area, is now operating in South Donetsk.

Footage of five Ukrainian Kozak armored vehicles being destroyed by Russian FPV drones. The video was filmed in the vicinity of the village of Velyka Pisarevka, Sumy Oblast, Ukraine. A temporary underground garage was set up in this location. Judging by the video, all the Kozak armored vehicles were new and had no crews. Since the underground shelter had no doors, the military equipment was spotted by drone operators and all of it was destroyed one by one by drones.

Massive strike by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the eve of the start of the truce proposed by Putin.

Since last night, the air defense systems of the Russian Armed Forces have intercepted more than 400 drones and missiles in the skies over the Tula, Yaroslavl, Belgorod, Moscow, Voronezh, Kostroma, Smolensk regions and the Republic of Mordovia.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have attacked industrial facilities and civilian infrastructure, with confirmed damage.

Fires were reported in the industrial zones of Tula and Saransk, where important industries of the Russian defense base are located; there were no civilian casualties.

Among the measures adopted by the Russians, a massive restriction of the mobile telephone network was used for the first time, simultaneously in several regions.

The aim of the measures is to complicate the navigation of enemy drones, which, among other things, use communication towers to increase accuracy in jamming conditions.

According to the Russian channel @Rybar, the massive Ukrainian attacks have demonstrated the inadequacy of measures to protect Russian industrial facilities, criticizing the official bureaucracy, where the peculiarities of the legislation do not allow for the full organization of fire brigades, and the construction of protective structures has not been authorized due to non-compliance with fire safety requirements.

There is a high probability that there will be further attacks during the Russian Victory Day holidays.

The scale of the Ukrainian attacks reveals long and meticulous preparation, with a concentrated effort to produce several hundred aircraft-type drones.

The Ukrainian army has once again begun attempting to break through to the Kursk region of Russia; fighting has been going on for 3 days. Ukrainian units are advancing from the Sumy region of Ukraine and are trying to break through to the Russian border settlements of Novy Put and Tyotkino in the Kursk region of Russia. At the moment, the breakthrough has been repelled in the area of the settlement of Novy Put, and a battle is underway in the village of Tyotkino. To repel the attack, Russian units are using FPV drones, artillery, and aviation. Some Ukrainian servicemen have been captured. The video shows the defeat of Ukrainian military equipment in the Kursk region and Sumy region. As a result of drone strikes, Ukrainian M2A2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, Kozak armored vehicles, IMR-2 and Wisent-1 engineering vehicles, T-64 tanks, Bergepanzer 2 armored recovery vehicles, M1117 armored personnel carriers, and M113 armored personnel carriers were hit.

The Russian military unit, the Rubicon Advanced Unmanned Aerial Technologies Center, has published footage of combat operations in Ukraine, of Russian FPV drone interceptors. A total of 67 episodes of interception of Ukrainian drones, manufactured in different countries, are shown. The video also shows the route of the Russian FPV drone interceptor. The video is especially valuable because it can be used as a catalog of Ukrainian military UAVs. For a complete overview of the UAVs used by the Ukrainian army, another video by operators of the Rubicon Advanced Unmanned Aerial Technologies Center has been added. The models of drones of the Ukrainian army are indicated in the description of the video. The video shows Ukrainian and foreign-made UAVs used by the Ukrainian army. FlyEye UAV, Furiya UAV, Mara UAV, Gore UAV, Leleka-100LR UAV, Shark-M UAV, Domakha UAV, Leleka-100EFT UAV, Avenger UAV, Jpiter H-1 UAV, HF-1 UAV, Poseidon H10 UAV, Gore UAV, Jpiter H1C UAV, UAV RQ-20A Puma AE, Leleka-100 UAV, Chaklun UAV, Raybird-3 UAV, Sparrow UAV, Valkyrie UAV.

Russian MoD claims 540 drones were taken down. If true, largest drone attack yet. I cannot find tangible evidence of damage. Waste of money if you ask me, since this is easily the cost of 1000-2000 smaller drones at least for the Ukrainians that can be used in the front and I am seeing reports and footages of Russian assaults that are unmolested and untouched by Ukrainian artillery and drones. This is easily an indication that the front line for the Ukrainians have become porous that they don't have enough personnel or even drones to cover a front that continues to expand further.

ZALA releases compilation footage of Lancet strikes and other systems against HIMARS. The strikes are in coordination with Z-16 UAVs that detect, geolocate and objectively verify damage.

Motor Sich plant in Zaporozhye struck by Gerans. The new trend in Geran strikes now comes with objective verification from the air, no doubt from a Geran or Gerbara mounting thermal optics. Ironically, Motor Sich as an enterprise were partly sold to the Chinese prior to the war. The latest versions of Gerans feature a 90kg thermobaric warhead instead of the 50kg HE warhead before, and some would feature an optical thermal camera. The strikes now tend to be concentrated in one area, the drones fly completely horizontal, staying above the height max of AA guns like the Gepard, and would sharply dive in a near vertical fashion to the target instead of a sloping trajectory. The much faster dive creates a higher pitched more angrier sound.

An episode of combat work of the Russian 9K332 Tor-M2 air defense missile system in the Kharkov region of Ukraine. In the video, the Tor-M2 air defense missile system shoots down a Ukrainian Valkyrie UAV using a 3M338K missile. The latest version of the Tor-M2 air defense missile system can detect air targets at a range of up to 32 km and hit them at a range of up to 16 km. An interesting fact is that NATO tested the Tor-M1 air defense missile system in Greece, and the results of these tests highly praised the air defense system. Based on its overall characteristics, the Tor-M2 air defense missile system still has no analogues in the world in its air defense class.

Footage of a Russian FPV drone attacking a Ukrainian M577 command and staff armored vehicle. The M577 armored command and staff vehicle was developed on the basis of the M113 armored personnel carrier in 1962 in the United States, modernized versions of it are still in use. The M577 armored vehicle is controlled by two servicemen and is designed to transport 3 soldiers. The Ukrainian army received M577 armored personnel carriers from Lithuania, 2 batches were transferred. The video of the drone strike on the M577 armored personnel carrier was filmed near the village of Iskriskovshchyna in the Sumy region of Ukraine, on the border with the village of Tetkino in the Kursk region of Russia. As a result of the attack by the Russian drone, the Ukrainian M577 command armored personnel carrier overturned.
