The War in the Ukraine

The Z-bros often get carried away by US approval, but Russia’s position in negotiations isn’t holding up well—since 2024 hasn’t come through with major advances.

Russia’s military performance comes off as lackluster, once again laying bare how weak it is. The Ukraine war has dragged on into its fourth year, and Russia still hasn’t wrapped up control over Donbas or Luhansk—let alone pulled off/prospect of a decisive blow against Ukraine’s army through an offensive on Odesa or even Kharkiv.

Yet here we’ve got deranged folks rambling on about NATO or pushing delusional takes—Threat on Europe!—all while Russia’s military hasn’t even broken through in two oblasts right on its doorstep after three years of warfare

Group South is mostly concentrated in the Chasiv Yar to Seversk fronts but is currently "lending" units to the Kurakhovo and Zaporozhye sectors, an indication that Chasiv Yar and Seversk is more of a "pin them down" mission mode than to storm. But that may change soon.

Took more than 3 years for north Vietnam to break through the border. And there was a fair bit less south Vietnamese + drafted US than there's AFU.

Blitzes like France, Korea, Iraq, Vietnam 1979 are very much the exception in military history. Usually they only happen when a combination of 3 factors exist: 1. Loser making major avoidable mistakes. 2. Winner having genius commanders with novel ideas. 3. A big mismatch in force readiness.

Footage of the attack of the Russian FPV drone "Prince Vandal Novgorodsky", controlled via fiber optic cable, on the Ukrainian armored personnel carrier VAB. The video was filmed near the village of Nikolsky, Kursk region of Russia. The VAB armored personnel carrier has been produced in France since 1976. In the Ukrainian army, the VAB armored personnel carrier was additionally equipped with lattice protection of the "Tsar-mangal" type. Judging by the video, as a result of the strike of the FPV drone "Vandal", the VAB armored personnel carrier was destroyed. The fate of the crew is unknown.

Russia isn't fighting this war to gain land only to lose it later. It's fighting to negotiate a new security architecture with NATO and deter their further encroachment. The military is subordinate to Russia's political objectives.
