The War in the Ukraine

NATO enlargement into the former Warsaw Pact started under the Clinton administration and Biden was around even back then. So yes.
But the Republican neoncons aren't much better. The difference is on who the main targets for US imperialism are. In their case it was Iraq, Iran, and North Korea. And then China afterwards. They were also the first to enlarge NATO to extend to actual former Soviet territory.

The thing is the US imperial policy is bipartisan. They might change the emphasis on what and how to do things but who is the party in the government in the US makes little difference on the actual goals.
That is mostly correct, especially with the oldest neocons, but there has been a change in the Republican party with Trump, lot of new right wing stooges and "loyalists" and they are not particularly enticed to throw the huge amount of resources that Ukraine needs just to keep the Russians at bay. Let see what happens.

This war is over. Without US support the Russians are going to steamroll to Kyiv in a few months.
If the Ukrainian establishment turn haywire, collapse and flee because of the US election results, it will open the doors for a steam roll. If they continue like they are doing, it will still take a lot of time to see real big changes on the front. Donbass is not even on Russian control yet...

Not guaranteed that Trump will turn is back on Ukraine but if the republican want to win next election, turning back their attention to the US population is the key. Infrastructures works, rebuilding hurricane and fire area would grab a lot of money out of Ukraine reach.

Ukrainian media published a video allegedly showing North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region of Russia. It is unknown who is actually shown in the video, perhaps this is trolling Russian soldiers. It is reported that DPRK soldiers in Russia are taught mine-explosive work and the basics of the Russian language.

Four Ukrainian kamikaze drones attacked the Russian city of Kaspiysk in Dagestan today, the video was published by local eyewitnesses. Some of the ships of the Russian Caspian Flotilla are stationed in Kaspiysk. Presumably, Ukrainian kamikaze drones of the A-22 "Flying Fox" aircraft type were used, the drones are based on the Aeroprakt A-22 aircraft. Some of the drones were shot down with small arms. Judging by the video, one of the drones presumably exploded near the decommissioned Russian missile boat "Stupinets" of Project 12411T, another drone exploded near a small missile ship of Project 21631. Presumably, Russian electronic warfare was operating in the port area, distorting the GPS signal, which is why the drones missed. At the moment, it is unknown whether the ships were damaged or not.

How that would help them on the front ??? All their energy need to be there and not attacking derelict ships that have no part in the conflict...

Very strange choice of target, maybe it's just chosen for lacks of good defenses ?

In theory ships from the Caspian can be redeployed to the Black Sea. Maybe they thought it would be poorly defended and could get a hit in that way yes.

You loose a protracted war the same you you go broke, first gradually then suddenly.

3 years of slowly loosing has already cost Ukraine most of its best troops, best weapons and best fortifications.

Their economy is entirely dependent on foreign hand outs, as is their war effort. And even with all that NATO arms and money, they are still only able to limit the rate of Russia’s advance by paying dearly for it with the lives of their soldiers.

Desertion is already such a problem even the western MSM cannot hide it anymore. What do you think will happen to the moral of the troops holding the line from this news? Who wants to lay their lives down just to give Trump more bargaining chips when he works out the best deal for America to save its own ass while throwing everyone it needs to under the bus?

Surprised this topic hasn't been discussed further.

Seems like only Ukraine is pushing the narrative that DPRK troops are in Russia but to my knowledge there has not been any real evidence. All the pics and vids online have been debunked. Maybe it is just Ukrainian propaganda in an effort to get more Western support, but Russia and North Korea have not come out and denied this either.

IMO maybe it makes sense for Russia to recruit DPRK troops to hold defensive positions in Kursk and inside Russia to free up manpower. But 5-8K troops (what MSM is quoting) is unlikely to make any real impact.

Yeah it's just cheap propaganda to try and bring western attention back.

For NK it's a point of major pride to deploy official volunteers. I'll think they have arrived once Kim is blaring it out to everyone. They happily did it with every past support they gave to Russia, why not with troops?

Russia is probably looking into ways to help NK open up a bit more, and part of that effort will involve opening up the foreign legion to NK citizens. But judging from the info we have, it is far too early to speak of any signficant numbers of volunteers having arrived. At the very most, there are maybe liasons sent to Russia to assist with the weapons NK donated as support.
