I'm going by rumors of course but supposedly Ukraine received the shorter range version of storm shadows and those SU-24's are likely releasing them 50kms maybe less behind the frontlines at medium altitude which falls really short in range when it comes to hitting Sevastopol. Logically speaking if they had the 500+km storm shadow from the get-go why didn't they go after the Russian naval base earlier unless they didn't have them.
Just for reference in a direct line Odessa is 305km from Sevastopol.
At least stop using Sevastopol... it's at the door step of the front for standoff ammunitions. Don't know for how mutch time these ships where there tho.
One point to analyze is that once again Ukrainian resilience surpasses Russian intelligence, although Russian propaganda sold us that strategic air platforms and their infrastructure had been destroyed in the last attack on Ukrainian airfields, and they boasted that no storms were being launched. shadow, however, official Russian sources tell us that 10 missiles have been launched in the same attack... something that the Russians never expected.

ST-68UM search radar that was destroyed is now confirmed to be done by a Kh-35 Uran/Switchblade missile launched from a plane. This is a repurposed antiship missile similar to a Harpoon or YJ-83. The P-18 radar is a vintage VHF radar using Yagi elements but when modernized, it can be used to detect stealthy targets, a distant cousin to the Type 517M radars used on the PLAN 052C/D destroyers.

This attack definitely overshadowed any “good news” coming out of Russia in the past few days!
Yes, a lot of the decisions they’ve made regarding positioning of ammo, fuel and materiel, even within Russian territory, have been questionable.
Such a discussion leads to s**t-flinging. So, please avoid such a discussion. Bans will be given out if this happens again.
