Most armies still use pre-ww2 machine guns with some modifications.Russians captured a machine gun nest in the Avdiivka front. It is armed with a Browning M2. Like I said before, if it can be used it will be used. Designed by John Browning at the end of WW1, it still has an effective range of 1,800 meters, a maximum of 7,400 meters and a rate of fire around 500 to 600 rpm.

MG-3 is the main machine gun in German armed forces as well as many other European armies, it is just a MG-42 with less rate of fire in order not to burn the barrel so easily.
