The relation between China and the neighboring country

This may appears intended to show the original Yue people's geographic area. It's not really land claimed by Vietnam, since there was no Vietnam and not even a certain dynasty that could be said to be Vietnamese until about the 10th century, by which the Yue people had fragmented. So, this is more a map of ethnicities than anything else.

As for the language components, while Yue language contributed a lot to the areas where the people used to occupy, modern Cantonese is more like a creole of Chinese varieties coupled linguistic drift from Tang dialect. And this increases as you go farther South.
The original Yue is in modern day Guangdong and guangxi only. They drew the yellow part up to the yangzi which is traditionally chu and Wu areas.

I think most Chinese knows that. But the map was reported to have come from a Viet nam nationalist poster in a different forum. I guess he was try to suggest Viet nam is justify in their claim to the South China Sea.

Lol, then China might as well rename Vietnam as jiaozhi again and reincorporate it.

We always welcome Chinese from China to work in Singapore, as well as students to study at our Universities. I personally know that Chinese students are hard working and attentive during lectures, as I taught MBA students at Guangzhou (Sun Yat Sen) and under-graduates @ Macau U in 2004 & 2005. I was also a Judge of Southern China (Guangdong) Universities‘ Inter team Communication Competition in 2015-17. They were excellent and presented in perfect English. China has a great future with theIr young generation.

Not sure where to put this. And since India is China's neighbour. I'll put it here.

I just saw a tweet by POTUS today listed below offering to mediate between China and India.

My question is I can't find anything raging going on. Is there something he knows that we doesn't?

We have informed both India and China that the United States is ready, willing and able to mediate or arbitrate their now raging border dispute. Thank you!

Smells like some games are afoot. Every time the US teases these little adventures, like Chekov's gun, it's already become predictable programming from false flags to planned uprisings/protests to coups to specops, something shadowy lurks here.

Also the US offering to mediate? LOL... why not also ask China to mediate between US hostilities with Iran? It's frankly scary to think the US is ruled by a man who can so publicly say something so obviously idiotic, not have any of his worshipers question the conflict of interest, and go through all that with no shame or even awareness that the possibility for embarrassment exists.

Normally I wouldn't even bat an eyelid on this, USA sticking their nose in where it doesn't belong. But today it caught my eye, because it came from Trump's tweet unexpectedly. And included the word "raging". So I just thought it was something hot right now that we don't know about.

Alas no, it was just Trump having a tweeter storm about everything because he thinks the whole world is against him now tweeter have put a fact check on his account! Lol.

Trump has made the same offer before.

This is like Iran offering to mediate between Israel and Palestine. May be it should go in the Funnies thread, like many of Trump's tweets.

Only seem Indian trolls hyperventilating about some minor scuffle, probably linked to this display of non-existent discipline by an Indian junior officer that was posted here a few days ago.

When a young Indian Army lieutenant punched a Chinese PLA major on his nose, at

and sent blood oozing from his nose, he nearly provoked an escalation that his officers had not bargained for.
The officer's infantry unit had stopped the

, and were furious at the Chinese commissar for shouting, "This (Sikkim) is not your land, this is not Indian territory... so just go back."
Brought up in a military family – his grandfather a veteran of the Royal and then Indian Air Force and his father a colonel in the Indian Army – the officer could not stomach it anymore.

The Lieutenant Was Patted For Bravery, Yet Admonished For ‘Provoking a Bigger Spat’
The Chinese major collapsed with a thud and his name tag came loose – a good souvenir to carry back – but the lieutenant left it alone, as his colleagues pulled him back.
After being admonished for a while by senior officers, for provoking a bigger spat, and being congratulated by officers from command and divisional headquarters at Kolkata and Sukna, the lieutenant was preparing for a commendation. But, the senior commanders could not land at Muguthang because of bad weather.

Meanwhile, the lieutenant is unrepentant, but somewhat crestfallen because he has been pulled back to a location away from the front. His only comfort that his troops are loving his act of 'teaching the Chinese the right lesson.'
