With the amount of J-7/Q-5 getting into retirement in the past few years with the influx of new fighters, do someone know where they pile-up/mothball/dismember these aircrafts ?

Someone have heard news about some of them sold to other countries already using them?

I heard some of them were converted to drones.
They would be used to saturate Taiwan's air defenses.

I read that somewhere too. Great idea for knocking the hell out of Taiwan's air defence and air bases, and a couple of military headquarters! China has a lot of these superceded aircraft!

It would be cool if someone could contact some of the Chinese bases or museums, etc and get more information on these aircraft and their history as they retire. Especially looking forward to more information on the J-8F!

Is China planning to replace these older planes like the J-7‘s and J-8‘s with J-16‘s and J-20‘s one on one. Or is the fighter fleet going to shrink.
