That's funny. Someone that needs to lie in order to win arguments shows one isn't confident with their cognitive ability. Not surprised there's sympathy for "Hong Kongers" from those that publicly complain of petty things like Chinese girls walking across the street wearing Hello Kitty t-shirts.

As a person from HK, I admit that my people has plenty of problems, which is also why I started this thread up at the first place: so we can discuss these issues. In addition, re-evaluations of in-group values will help keep our ego, attitudes, and values in check, thus increasing self-awareness and reducing ignorance, thus reducing our chances of making ignorant statements like these:

Lol, you'll never hear that from a formerly colonized people unless you point a gun to their head. Besides, quite a few countries have achieved great progress since winning their independence proving that they can govern their country quite well without interference from the outside.

Loving your city and wanting people to show respect is great, but mixing with self-righteous holier-than-thou attitudes is rarely productive, ironically it betrays their lack of refinement.
You don't want to corner people, which is what that young man had done, when they are so embarrassed that they've got no face to lose then all hell breaks lose.

I did chuckle at that little girl though, Chinese propaganda is very thorough at a young age, but once she grows up a little more she will be in for a rude awakening and quickly realize that doing what's right won't get her anything. On this matter I hope I am proven wrong.

So you're saying the reason why the girl ate on the MTR against the rules was because of Chinese propaganda?

I think he is talking about the kindness to others and to the environment "propaganda"

No, I was talking about the part where the little girl said, "Mother is at fault here", and the mother promptly tried to shush her.
I brought it up because it's a general trend I see in a lot of kids in China, when they are young they aren't afraid to say what's right and what's wrong, once they become teenagers that all goes out the window.

I tend to agree. We don't know why the mother of the kid got so defensive in the first place. Could it be the train personnel didn't do his job professionally and told off the mother and child in a demeaning manner in front of the other train passengers? No doubt the kid broke the rule by eating in the train but that doesn't mean the train personnel can take the matter personnally and start talking offensively out of line of his job duty.
