Just look at Ukraine, the fancy stuff like Su-35 or even Su-57 are a footnotes compared to artillery, cruise missiles, and suicide drones. Those Pakistani AWACs give such huge situational awareness advantage, not dissimilar to the role of NATO AWACs for Ukraine.
NATO AWACS don't even see into eastern Ukraine; they're just too far.
And Russian ones were thrown out of theater by reanimated Ukrainian s-200s(probably polish digital upgrade).
Ukraine is a weird war in modern era, it's now long enough that mid/long term technical answers make it in time.
Kashmir was instantaneous, limited yet intensive, with victory decided by "points". I.e. the logic is basically opposite, AWACS presence is justified and crucial even if it's directly under fire(modern heavy sam's can intercept other heavy sams, the question is for how long until there will be a fail)
