Pretty simple in terms of what’s going on.

Provoke a conflict, have a limited skirmish with Pakistan.

See if U.S. will support India this time instead of Pakistan.

If so, India will fully work with U.S. going forward.

Would request mods to clean this up, let's focus on the conflict and not the internal politics of the countries.

In all fairness, you can't disconnect internal politics from the Indo-Pakistani conflict unless you want to avoid the entire topic altogether.

Case in point: zero hard evidence has emerged thus far that proves that Pakistan, as a state, was responsible for the recent attack in Pahalgam. However, internal politics are driving a many Indians to scream for blood, and why a skirmish, if not war is practically inevitable at this point.

Almost reminds you of US internal politics following 9/11 when American Neocons insisted on an invasion of Iraq. We all know how that panned out, but such is the power and relevance of internal politics!

No one wants to put up with endless Jai Hind v. Pakistan Zindabad flames wars, but unless the entire topic is to be avoided, the best you can really do is insist that discussions occur on a positive basis (i.e. "X happened, Y occurred") rather than a normative basis (i.e. "country A should do X cause it's the 'moral' or 'right' thing to do").

Beyond that, not sure if there's really much we can ask of the mods. Ultimately, it's their call however they wish to proceed.

Not true, natural ally is someone who will ally with you because of need and common interest. Pakistan and China are natural allies due to their opposition of India. As long as India is big country with 1.4 billion people, they are a threat to both Pakistan and China.

Pakistan and US are not natural allies anymore because they don't have a common enemy of soviets. So, they are slowly drifting apart.

Alliance is defined by common interest, not culture. China has so much common with Japan and SK, and yet so much enmity.
What I ment was that China don't care about if Pakistan survives and look at it's as a chess piece only. If Pakistan and India eradicate each other I don't think a single Chinese will cry over Pakistan.

Will US cry over Japan if it were destroyed but took China with it? Will Japan cry if US was destroyed but left world hegemony to Japan?

No

But will China cry if it loses Pakistan to indian absorption? Of course it will.

You cry over losing your ally if it means a loss to you. Not if it served it's purpose.

I knew it.

This whole thread is going to turn into another political mess swinging between cHiNa NeEdS tO hElP pAkIsTaN bEcAuSe ThEy ArE aLliEs AnD bEcAuSe ChInA iS rIvAlS wItH iNdIa.

Imo, I think China should stay the out of this mess and simply let the two duke it out if they want to. Simply issuing vanilla statements like "calling both sides to resolve matters peacefully" is more than enough.

And seriously absent of any actual fighting between the two, we don't need this thread, because both India and Pakistan do this all the time.

I don't think things are the same as before. Nowadays it is India that has gone fascist and have become vocal about utterly destroying Pakistan or atleast take over Pakistan controlled Kashmir.

The kind of overconfidence coming from India is such that they want a big war. I find eery similarities between India's current populace mood and trajectory with Nazi Germany. They want a big war, they want to take over as much as they can and they regard Pakistan to have no strength and on the verge of collapse.

I think we are looking at a major war this time due to Indian aggressiveness and potentially things could go nuclear.

Agreed. While there is a possibility of a skirmish, we should wait until it happens. More likely than not nothing will happen.

The Pakistani Defense Minister is literally saying "it is likely that [indecipherable] India will attempt an incursion of Pakistan and will engage Pakistan militarily."

While senior Indian officials are

, which could only be achieved militarily:
"We will reclaim the part of Kashmir that Pakistan has occupied. Also, Pakistan will be divided into separate countries named Balochistan, Pakhtunistan, and Punjab. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will ensure this," Mr Dubey stated confidently.

Yet you suggest "nothing will happen."

How are you so optimistic, comrade?

What do you see that the rest of us are missing?
