This doesn't deserve a thread because nothing has happened yet. It's just sabre rattling like they've always done for decades.
They always do this. Which is why most of the world don't care about it.

It's just the Indian and Pakistani diaspora are exporting their tensions abroad to whatever countries they reside in the most; UK, Canada, etc.
Add in the connectivity of Internet and we get so much noise from these two nations over tensions that ALWAYS HAPPENS between them.

If I were a mod, I would delete this. We don't need to create a thread for every tension that happens globally and especially not for one that ALWAYS happens between these two.

One thing that India absolutely hates is being ignored by China and the US, as it makes them feel especially irrelevant and inferior. You see, many of them want to believe the Americans and Chinese are somehow their equals.

So if it makes you feel any better, please know you might literally be hurting Indian feelings right now! :p

I think it's pretty much inevitable now that India will strike Pakistan. And Modi has to escalate further than he did last time in order to maintain his tough guy image. So, Balakot style air strike will not cut it this time.

The fact that Pakistan is moving a lot of ground force into Kashmir should be an indication that they anticipate a ground war this time.

Another potential escalation could be missile strikes from navy ships.

It’s a real pity that China couldn’t even save the most close ally from going into slow death spiral. The Sharrifs, Bhutto, Munir and a large section of elites have sided to the other side openly vis-a-vis China. The military doesn’t have a popular backing, economy is shit, military chief’s worldview is medieval, and there is nothing that China would get in return. Why didn’t China press firmly against the coup against Khan is beyond my comprehension? Even today, China could let Khan go free, stimulate Pakistan to restrain the military from politics, reduce Islamist extremism. If China thinks doing nothing would be in their best interest, then it would be surrounded by crumbling and failed allies and outright hostile nations.

Terrorist and shootings are common but messing with water for food production seems like an escalation that don't happend every second year.

I must solemnly correct you, the Great Trump stated today that this is a 1,500-year-long war.
Maybe he is thinking of Israel Palestine.

Going slightly of topic here but this is why I don't think China has got what it takes to lead the world in a potential post-US era. Can it achieve military and economic superiority? Sure. Can it use them to yield geo-political and cultural power? No.

It can't save its supposedly closest ally from self-destructive behavior while being the largest or 2nd largest economy in the world.
