This article is indeed of no value and I find little enjoyment in reading it. I've seen too many publications saying China's definitely going to invade Taiwan by 2010, 2020, or now 2030. It seems like every-time their dumb prophecy is proven wrong with time, they simply shift the date back 10 years. This is why foreign analysts have been so wrong about the PLA for almost three decades now; they keep thinking that China is obsessed with reconquering Taiwan ... and hence miss the entire strategic picture. In other words, the all too cliched Taiwan vs China military scenario

What's the point of starting this thread? I'd see mods close it.

Remember when the so-called experts said China was going invade Taiwan while the US was pre-occupied with Iraq and Afghanistan?

I wanted to point out how silly some of the analysts are.

But what is even sillier, is how he was invited to give a much more detrailed testimony to the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission in Congress on the same topic.
