Terrorists don't run out of reasons to conduct themselves the way they do. If not cartoons there will be something else. IMHO it is incredibly naive to think that appeasement will somehow make the attacks go away. It just changes targets depending on reason selection and there are plenty to choose from because we are dealing with competing values.

Never said anything of the sort. I can say the same about you and charge you think like a terrorist. You just want people to run on anger of the attacks just like terrorists want to seize on Muslim anger over these satires to get them to do what they want. Just like a terrorists, it's blasphemous to dare to think any other way. Thinking about what could possible happen next helps solves problems. If you're not concern with those that can't be protected... that's just cold.

Guys, these topics about "subjective morality," "free speech limits," and others are basically political and ideological in nature.

SD is not for in depth political or ideological discussions. We have proven...over and over again...that delving into these matters in a forum as diverse as ours across all sorts of political and ideological lines and the corresponding moral values behind them, invariably ends up in contention, bruised feelings, arguments and ultimately moderation that leads to closed thread, warned members, suspended members and banned members.

So...no. Do not go there.

This thread is about the terror attacks in Paris, the investigation (the facts associated with it), and the resulting impacts. Keep it to those facts and do not delve into these other areas on SD.

You are free through PM to engage with one another to your hearts content in such matters, but not on the forums themselves.

Do not respond to this moderation.
