Reminds me of that other incident last year:Taiwan F-16 flying to the US for training force landing in Hawaii. I've been seeing many F-16 landing nose down. Does F-16's nose landing gear especially weak?

ROCAF keep about 15 of their F-16A in US at Luke AFB at Arizona for training purposes. Americans are responsible for day to day maintenance of these aircraft. This one was going back to Taiwan for upgrades by Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (to F-16V standard presumably?). It was meant to land in Honolulu for refueling and when landing it was discovered the front landing gear wouldn't deploy.
Because of this it looks like ROC intends to blame this incident on the Americans and ask them to pay for the damage, which I errrm, don't think daddy will be happy about.

What a stupid waste of money.
There's a reason why nobody else uses supersonic LACMs. They combine the drawbacks of both ballistic missiles (everyone can see you) and subsonic LACMs (all sorts of air defense assets, both SAMs and fighters, can take potshots at you. A long range supersonic LACM is essentially just a giant supersonic target drone). Something with a 2000km range and a Mach 3-3.5 speed will get shot down by SAMs, the PLAAF/PLANAF and DDGs long before it gets to Beijing.

There is no way that this missile could hit Beijing because Earth is round.
It would be less effective than Iraqi SCUDs. At least the SCUDs were difficult to intercept.
