Yep, Tomorrow war was just... poor. A bunch of beat points and "cool" ideas forcefully connected by a rushed and badly written script.
It even managed to look cheap.

Anyone watch The Tomorrow War on Amazon Prime? The alt-right fanboys up are up in arms that Chris Pratt, their new Republican hero's movie is getting bad reviews. It deserves bad reviews because the logic is a mess. Don't read any further if you don't want to know what happened. So aliens invade the Earth in the future so they recruit humans in the past to fight in the future. So in the future they come up with a toxin that kills the aliens but they can't manufacture it large amounts so they get Chris Pratt's character to bring in back in the past to manufacture there and when that's done it's suppose to be sent back to the future so they can use it there. Why? There are only 500,000 humans left in the future. The wife comes up with the idea of waiting to use the toxin to prepare when the aliens start their invasion. The thing is they mention they only know the aliens started attacking at this certain year but there was no signs of aliens ships landing or anything. They just showed up. So they figure out that the aliens may have been already on Earth years before where in fact they've been here for thousands of years frozen in ice in a Russian glacier and global warming thaws them out. So they go up there and find the alien's ship and find the aliens in suspension in there pods and they start injecting the toxin and of course they die but the aliens screams as they die wake up all the other aliens in their pods and there's too many so they just blow up the ship. No toxin needed in the first place. Of course in the story this had to happen to lead them to that but a lot of it was unnecessary because the smartest person that figured out most of it was the guy's wife. Of course they had to make a 2-hour movie to fill but it was lazy and it could've been better if it was smarter. I thought it was okay for just a ride movie. No brain cells required.
Does'nt matter, I got the answer to my question by rereading the post.

Basic premise is that in the future the machines have already wiped out most of humanity so you and your goon squad of cyborgs have to fight back and take back the planet.

Somehow, the movies has "lost it" when comes to Sci-fi genre in recent years.

The Mandalorian is better than the new trilogy...(let's see how much flak I gonna get here for this)

And Loki is such a rare gem...one more episode now...

There's no mystery. Hollyweird have been overrun by virtual signaling idiots that couldn't write a story if their life depended on it. I'm surprised that you would get any flak for placing The Mandalorian above the latest trilogy. Of all the posts that I've read, very few liked the latest trilogy. I walked away from the trilogy after TLJ. Rogue One was surprisingly entertaining while Solo was ok.

People tend to think that successful Chinese games are only coming out now, when in fact, they had already came out before. They also greatly underestimate the breadth of the Chinese game industry. Its not just about MMOs with Xixia fantasies, Three Kingdoms, Monkey King, anime related games with gacha monetization. You would have a hard time thinking these games have Chinese developers but they are.

Basically everything about this movie is stupid and nonsensical.

They wanted apocalyptic battle scenes with aliens in dead cities but didn’t want to bum the snowflake audience out with dead American cities so tried to pull the usual time heist all-action-zero-consequences Hollywood BS, with the only twist being the time heist is reversed and they are sending people into the future instead of the past.

Sending people who were destined to die shortly meaninglessly into the future to fight and die so the timeline isn’t significantly impacted is a fun and interesting concept. Even if it ignores the whole butterfly effect side of things, but I can let that slide since it is all theoretical mental constructs to start with.

What I find impossible to forgive is the total meaninglessness of sending people to die in vast numbers in the future. I mean, what was the game plan exactly? I agree the future is already lost with only 500k people left.

It should never have been about trying to fight and win a conventional war, it should have been about needing to find the mcguffin needed for the past people to stop the alien invasion before it ever got properly started, and sending troops into the future should have been all about buying time to find this mcguffin or some critical piece of intel, like the location of the alien’s original beachhead so the combined might the of the world’s militaries can be there ready and waiting with numbers and weapons built up in the decades of advanced warning they got.

That kind of specialised mission would have also justified needing to send in infantry instead of just spamming tanks, attack helicopters, fighter jets and those little machine gun drones in the movie that were so frigging effective at killing the spike aliens.

The choice of infantry weapons, was also ridiculous. SBR M4s where clearly woefully ill suited to the task, but they just keep on using them even when there are all sorts of off-the-shelf weapons readily available in higher cal that should be far more effective.

Even if the venerable AK47 in 7.62 isn’t sufficient to punch through their armour, you have 50 cal semi auto Lynx battle rifles which would most certainly be up to the task.

Throwing in civilians with zero training and demonstrably ineffective primary weapons is just so utterly pointless and ridiculous that it breaks the whole movie for me.

Is Loki really worth watching? Could you compare to some other TV shows that you liked, so perhaps I can better compare it to other good shows?

Ever play StarCraft? This is humans spamming marines with no upgrades because they didn't tech up while the zerg also got upgraded hydralisks with higher numbers.

The while concept is stupid, f22 as bombers lol. If planes can kill them so easily, why didn't they just bomb the shit out of Siberia in the first place? The aliens didn't have anti air or air, they can glide at best, so some A-10s can basically win the war already. Then send in the pretty much any armor supported by attack helicopters would make it a walk in the park.

This is what happens when a bunch of liberal arts people write a war story.
