A few days ago I was shocked to learn about this;


Both teams needs to learn their manners. It was a friendly for Pete sakes.:mad:

I used to play basketball myself during my youth but I do not recall a brawl ever happening. We usually exchanged elbows and shoulders when the referee was not looking.;)

There had been several serious brawls in the NBA as well. The most recent ones include the Pacers-Piston (2004) and Knicks-Nuggets (2006).

Any professional sports event is dangerous because players are all very competitive and emotions might get out of control. It is the job of the officials to keep the emotion down to a manageable level. I think in any of this kind of incidents, officials and players all bare some blame.

Yeah but those were in season competing for a seat in the finals. The one we see above was a friendly match that doesn't have much consequence whether you win or lose.

My Alma Mater, BYU, beats Nebraska on a final second 42 yard touchdown pass.

What a great game...back and forth, with BYU ultimately taking a 24-14 lead at half, only to fall behind 24-28 in the 4th quarter and having their starting quarterback, Taysom Hill, out of the game.

A true freshman, Tanner Mangum, who had just returned to the US from his two year LDS mission in June took the helm and drove them to a field goal with a few minutes left, making it 27-28, and then driving them to the 42 yard line with one second left and lofting a final pass that was caught at the goal line with the BYU receiver, Mitch Matthews, falling into the end zone. Game over, BYU wins 33-28.

Tanner Magnum throws the game winning pass from the 50 yard line as time expired.

well, yesterday, my Alma Mater, BYU, pulled out another squeaker.

They beat my BSU Broncos 34-24, but they had been behind until the last 42 seconds when their freshman QB hit another bomb to go ahead.

Then BSU threw a pick-six as time ran out.

But BSU had been ten points up in the 4th quarter.

I was rooting for BYU because I went to school there, met my wife there, and my brother played four years n scholarship there in the late 1970s and early 1980s under Lavelle Edwards. Jim McMahon was a team mate of my brother's there.
