Yes I saw that earlier on. I can't say I'm sadden by his passing. I'm a big football fan. I go watch my local team most weeks. I also watch my nearest premiership team about 30 miles away as often as I can.

But I'm also in the autumn of my life. Meaning I remember watching him cheat with his hand, (which he admitted years later). But at the time, he brought God into his cheating by calling it the "hand of god".

He was also dismissed in the middle of the world cup in 1994 in the US for drug chrat. So as good as he was, he's also a flaw individual. Don't get me wrong, no one is perfect. But he less than most.

In terms of skills, he's good. But there are better. Pale, Cruyff, Best, Charlton, Beckenbaeur, Ronaldo, Messi, Zidan, Platini. Is more complete and better players than him in my opinion.

I think you're in the age range as me or a little older. I was born in the 70s and started watch football in the 80s; however, I was no fan to any football player, no matter how famous he was/is. Even as recent as 5 or 6 years ago, I was still a big fan of football, not nowadays any more because I have many more things to be busy with. We have a term which I don't know how to describe in English, it's like addition to football. In our local language, we call it "football worm".

Talking about "hand of god", Maradona is not the lone player using it. The recent famous player of "hand of god" might be Henry. I think Maradona was luckier because in his era camera technique was not so good, his trick was not caught so clearly. Henry was caught live at scene. With today's on-scene TV review rules, hand-of-god will no longer have a chance unless the referee also want to cheat.

Not bad for a kid who just arrived to the US during his junior/senior year in high school and learned about the sport of football by his high school football coach who noticed his size. He than attended to Junior College in North Dakota to continue to learned and improve his game. He did came back to China for a bit to join an American football club that has some American players in his club. That's where one of his American team mates (whom went to ASU) told him about walking on to Arizona State University to try out. The rest is history. HE might never ever become NFL pro, but his hard work and perseverance will pay off in life in whatever he chose to do.

Sun Yang's 8-year ban overturned after lawyers point to judge's anti-Chinese tweets​

Sun Yang, the most decorated swimmer in Chinese history, had his eight-year ban from the Court of Arbitration for Sport overturned by a Swiss federal court on Wednesday,

. The ban had originally been issued after the World Anti-Doping Agency brought a complain against Sun for refusing to cooperate with three anti-doping officials attempting to collect blood and urine samples at his home in China.

The reason behind the reversal was a successful challenge by Sun’s lawyers that questioned the neutrality of Franco Frattini, the chairman of the three-person CAS panel that issued the swimmer’s ban.

Specifically, Sun’s lawyers pointed to past tweets from Frattini that carried a strong anti-Chinese sentiment.

Yes but the major point was made due to anti China sentiments among judges. It proves to China and the world that there are some nefarious Westerners that are looking to hurt them and defame them in anyway possible for political points.

Many give Europeans a prejudice they are evolved and beyond discrimination which many romanticize about Europeans where they would avoid such a problem early but instead they see no problem with a judge with open anti-China views to judge a Chinese athlete and allowed it to happen. Supposed officials coming to demand samples without credentials is suspicious hence why the samples were smashed. Why take samples in the first place if you were going to smash them? If you remember the case with baseball player Darryl Strawberry, some journalists lied to him saying they were baseball officials that wanted samples for testing drug use. You think the tabloids of Western media wouldn't dare try pulling a stunt like that here? There's the same kind of arrogance putting a judge with obvious anti-China prejudice to judge a Chinese athlete and thinking an official didn't have to bring credentials to take blood samples.

IMO Wada is determined to get a conviction because they just don't like Sun. First of all the penalty is way too heavy for essentially amounts to 1 missed test. Now compare that with Australian swimmer Fraser Holmes who only got 12months for missing 3 consecutive blood tests. Meanwhile, whats happened to Australian Shayna Jack who was sent home for testing positive with an enhancer substance at the last worlds?

I think Sun is making it hard by trying to defend himself at the hearing witH his limited EnglishAny competent lawyer should be able to get those charges against him dismissed.

I thought it was odd that the 76ers were said to be favored in getting Harden. Daryl Morey went to the 76ers saying he has no regrets and in China I heard 76ers games are now banned on TV in China and Harden likes his fans in China.
