They still buy a number of American products for their military and use systems developed in joint. The ROK however like many military want a degree of independence in supply chain. Farther at least one of these products derivatives might end up being adopted by the US Army well a number of NATO armies are looking very strongly at a number of Korean military vehicles including adoption of K9 and potentially the K2.

Pay walled but basically The ROKAF is unhappy with Peace Eagle. Not the aircraft but the numbers they bought. Not enough. They are looking at either buying Globaleye to supplement or at the Potential of Boeing building more.

I guess that's the final render of the batch II.
Congrats to Korea, first batch was weird enough, doing with 2 types of vertical launchers(3 overall) something that could've technically been done with one - as all of them are at least partially repetitive. Now they've correctly identified the issue, and got this diversity up to 4: Mk.41, K-VLS, K-VLS II, and canisters.
