In fairness, Indonesia did order a couple dozen Apaches recently.

EDIT: Also, the mistake appears to be from the

Thank you! This happened to me once before on another thread. Overzealous copy and pasting. It is good to know that SD members are not asleep at the wheel like the media is.

I think I’ve had too much Malbec

Fairness had nothing to do with it, really.

It was not unfair, it was just wrong.

My point was not directed at our SD poster...but at the media who made such an elementary, basic mistake.

The fact that the Indoenesians have ordered and received some actual Apaches does not change the fact that there were no Apaches in that picture where the report was that they were, "flying in formation over warships during celebrations of the 69th anniversary of the Indonesian Armed Forces."

so I googled it (to see if I can link it to my Facebook profile directly), its caption says

An Indonesian Marine tank jumps and launches missiles during The 69th Republic of Indonesian Military Anniversary on October 7, 2014 in Surabaya, Indonesia.

looks like "firing a gun" got lost in translation LOL

anyway, great crew, great photographer! :)

Jeff, now I found they had showed at least this one :)
Yes...but it would be nice for one or more of those to have been flying along with the ships in formation like the original caption indicated.

Having some of their Apaches out supporting their Navy units in the celebration would have been a cool picture.

version of the helicopter/'battleship' shot, which shows more clearly another formation in the distance. I count something like 35 helicopters airborne, which is quite impressive, although they've probably just blown half their annual fuel allotment. ;)

I don't know why they included a chart of the anti-radiation version together with pictures of an anti-surface attack ... anyway, it's interesting, so can anybody please provide more news on this test?
