According to Indonesian media JakartaGreater, citing the Chief of Indonesian Navy, a new 63 meters Stealth Fast Missile Patrol Vessel (FMPV) trimaran will be ordered from shipbuilder North Sea Boats (PT Lundin). The first vessel, KRI Klewang-625, was destroyed in a fire in September 2012 shortly after its launch.

Just Where do they intend to land that black hawk? the rear portion of the upper deck does not look like it's built for a Hanger deck or heli pad. and there is no way they could run it up that well deck.

Think it's just a promotional piece, don't think this vessel can support any helo. Be interesting to compare it with the new Taiwanese FAC.

The Taiwanese FAC looks more a full Frigate this is barely a Corvette. Much closer to the Type 022 but even that would out of weight class.

I think in length, this trimaran is actually longer at 63m vs 60m on the Taiwanese FAC. Beam trimaran is 16m vs 14m on the FAC. Both have roughly same range and top speed. Trimaran will carry 8 ASMs, FAC also has 8. Trimaran 6 barrel gatling type vs FAC 76mm gun.

but almost half the length of K3X is it's Bow.
the Tuo River Class is stated at 500 tons with a 34 man crew and can operate a Helicopter and along side that 76mm is a phalanx plus mountings for 4x 12.7mm MG's
This has a single multibarrel gun no evidence of being able in its show configuration of using a chopper no stated weight but a crew of 23.
They may be equals in Missiles. but in mission sets Tuo River has the edge.

Manila–The Philippines will sign P23.7-billion worth of aircraft deals next week amid the military’s efforts to attain a minimum credible defense. The deals to be signed include the 12 lead-in trainer jets from South Korea (P18.9B) and eight combat utility helicopters (P4.9B) from Canada. The signing will be held on March 28 at the Department of National Defense Headquarters at Camp Aguinaldo. “Well, we tasked the protocol of the Office of Secretary of National Defense or the Department of National Defense to coordinate with the contracting party for those that will be invited in the signing,” Defense Undersecretary Fernando Manalo told reporters Friday.

“Definitely mandatory will be the [Defense] Secretary because he will be the approving authority for the contract, the chief of staff, the major service commanders and probably the commanding general of the Air Force, and the president of KAI (Korean Airspace Industries), the president of Kotra (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) and probably the ambassador of South Korea to the Philippines,” he added. Kotra is the agency of the Republic of South Korea in charge of the commercial transaction in behalf of the government. The signing will also be held amid a heightened territorial conflict with China over the resource-rich West Philippine Sea (South China Sea). The acquisition of fighter jets is one of the two big-ticket items in the P85-billion AFP Modernization Program. The other is the purchase of two brand new frigates worth P18 billion.

Re: ASEAN military news

Actually I don't think Singapore even had a capital. We are one big island city... and I truly think that our main defense is offensive. We cannot be on the defense because of the small size of the country, and true, although Singapore is surrounded by water, but unlike England, Singapore is so small, it would be easy for opponents to strike at any area or even form a blockage around Singapore which will cause the entire country to collapse in no time because Singapore is not self reliance.

Thus the main reason for the strong military is to be able for the country to strike at their potential enemy (pre-emptive strike if you will) and end the battle within two weeks or lesser, and force talk onto the table, or hoping that foreign help will come. That is also one reason I mentioned that our internal security also needed to be stepped up, at least to form the last line of defense to hold the country as much as possible while waiting for help or victory from our own military forces in the enemy's land.
Just curiosity: How small must a country be that it can be defeated by Singapore in two weeks? Please pick an example from Central America or Africa in order not to inflame passions.
