Significance of the Chinese military contribution to World War 2 disputed.

First, Taiwan's development cannot be used as an example of "alternative Chinese development". The two are geographically and politically incomparable.

Second, we already know what Jiang was like, and we already know what China under the ROC was like. If Jiang was capable of unifying China and strengthening the country, he would never have lost to the Communists. To think otherwise is merely wishful thinking.

the Nationalist Nanjing decade was quite good.

I'm still waiting for your list of CCP's battles and units at the end of ww2.

If, by quite good, you mean widespread poverty, massive corruption, vast swathes of the country under warlord or foreign control, and an average life-expectancy of 35 years, then yeah, sure...

What do you mean by "battles at the end of WW2"? Why would there be battles at the end of a war? Do you mean near but before the end? Or shortly after the end? Or what? I can't really answer a question that makes no sense.

list of CCP's battles and units during the anti-Japanese war, at the point of year 1945 ( any date ) or end of war.

So are you saying they had more or less?

they exaggerated their troop strength during the war to promote this great myth that large number of their troops were fighting and pinning down the Japanese. the CCP’s self-proclaimed 1.2 million regular troops and 2 million irregular troops only fought 2 notable battles during 8 years of long war and no notable battles after 1940 when they supposedly had rapid increases in troop strength.

How then did it come about that their staffs were of a decidedly better quality then the staffs of NRA when the civil war continued from 1945. That was not because they had taken time off to follow a postal course in military staff work.

So you're saying the PLA kicked the KMT's ass with even less troops, and most of them green troops at that?

during the civil war, the KMT made too many mistakes, and the CCP made few mistakes. the KMT eventually screwed themselves to hand CCP the victory. i mentioned many times already. if the KMT had a clear military advantage at the onset, that was quickly eliminated by the Communist spies inside KMT’s top military brass.

the CCP’s top military commanders had taken time off for the Mao Zedong indoctrination program at Yan'an from 1942-44. if they were really doing a great deal of fighting against the Japanese, why is that they enjoyed leisure time in Yan’an for long periods while the war was still ongoing. Chiang Kai Shek was too busy with the war. he didn't recall back any of his busy region and district commanders back to Chungkung for some meaningless indoctrination program. hope you get my point.
