I agree with your later points. However, this aircraft is actually massive in size. If we exclude Russia's high-speed interceptors or fighter-bombers, the J-XDS's dimensions and weight would surpass all fighter aircraft in history.
Therefore, I believe it's more likely that Shenyang Aircraft Corporation never intended to rely on a second pilot for drone operation from the design phase.

Yeah it’s really hard to say how any bleed based fluidic control system might work without more details. But we also have to factor in the vortex generators ahead of the bleeds here. Presumably there isn’t a situation where either your sucking or blowing is free from interaction with the over body vortices.

do we have any reliable estimates on the size? Some are saying flanker-sized some are saying it's tiny. Perhaps the ratio of the canopy size to aircraft length, or the landing gear will give some hints?

I estimate it to be approximately 21 meters in length, with a wingspan of 18 meters, a wider fuselage, and two high-thrust engines, resulting in a maximum takeoff weight of at least 40 tons.

Rear facing radar(s)? :eek: Or just some radar absorbing treatment....? Looks big enough for some, relatively speaking, small AESA arrays, something akin to the size of those in the new PLA tanks.

BTW the two "bone" protrusions behind the cockpit is interesting....

Good obs. The J-20 has them too, arrays which likely are just part of the 360 degrees coverage EW/RWR system. They are big though when compared to the cockpit, so I wouldn't be surprised if it has radar function as well. The 2 bones could be some sort of DIRCM though placement could suggest some satellite related capabilities.
