It uses 2d tvc,its strong possibilty that a single j20 was modified with 2d tvc as s demonstrstor aircraft.
Hi, do you mean that they modified an existing J20 platform to have a completely different dimensions/profile? Modifying an existing airframe to have such great changes seems terribly far fetched to me.

I would also assume that these are mostly 'finalized', mature prototypes at least with regards to the airframe in keeping with past Chinese reveals.

I think he just meant swapping the nozzles out for 2D TVC ones. That's not exactly an extreme redesign.

Where would SAC get a J-20 from?

While obviously SAC and CAC are both part of AVIC, they're still kinda separate. And I don't know how likely it would be for CAC to sabotage themselves by handing a J-20 over for development to SAC.

However I know far too little about the internal structure at AVIC to know for certain. Someone else here may enlighten me (and others) in this regard.

SAC and CAC both are separate entities and comes under AVIC. both firms work autonomously without interfering each other's project. J-20 is a flagship project of CAC. they are the owner of J-20. so no one can touch it without permission.

SAC itself has very tight schedule. flankers to J-35 and J-50 plus different UAVs projects.

I would honestly think it was just put on a Flanker, it would take a somewhat extraordinary process for SAC to get its hand on a J-20.
