Seems as if V1 + V2 were flying together today!?

I'm more interested in the commentary provided by Angadow...

Translation:
Angadow: if this happened in the last few days, it's probably because a potential client was evaluating it

Someone: navy?

Angadow: PLAN has already finished with their evaluations

Who could this potential client be if not the PLAN? Saudis? PAF?

Well, I'd like to speculate the following:

1. The high frequency of FC-31v2 test flights in November/December 2017 was due to PLAN evaluations (specifically, for a carrier-based fighter contract).

2. The pause in flight testing from late December to March 2018 was probably because nobody was evaluating the design at the time.

3. PB19980515 mentioned that there will be naval variants of the FC-31 other than the carrier-based version, so this most recent test flight might've something to do with evaluations by the land-based arm of the PLANAF.

Though, not exactly sure why the land based arm would want a different variant. Wouldn’t interoperability make a lot of sense within one service?

But I would expect the land-based naval evaluation already being concluded  ... why additional tests after a decision was made on the new naval type?

By the way, wasn't there a report that NA decided to make a fly-off between both naval contenders?

looks beautiful. as i said before even the REJECTED plane from China is miles ahead and BETTER than the wannabee 5th Gen planes from Japan, Korea, Turkey, India, Iran.
Korea, Turkey, and India's "5th Gen" planes are still on paper or in the form of models, while the J-31 first flew in 2012. These countries are dependent on American/Russian engines. Iran's Qaher-313, I'm not even sure what that is supposed to be, got any clues? Behind China, Japan is the furthest along with its X-2 Shinshin but it is not the full sized plane, more of a technology demonstrator. Their plan is to use F-35 as a stop gap while in parallel further develop their domestic program into the F-3 fighter, desiring to incorporate sixth gen technologies (5.5 gen?). First flight sometime in 2027, at least that is the plan.
